GridIron Fantasy Sports Acquires World Championship of Fantasy Football
ST. LOUIS, May 11, 2007 - GridIron Fantasy Sports LLC announced today that it has acquired the assets and rights to the World Championship of Fantasy Football from Fantasy Championships Inc., for undisclosed terms.
Beginning in 2002, Fantasy Sports Championships, Inc. established the World Championship of Fantasy Football as the premier event in fantasy sports. The 4-month long event begins with a draft during the opening weekend of the NFL season and culminates with the crowning of the World Champion after Week 16 of the NFL season is completed. In 2006, the World Champion was awarded a cash prize of $200,000, and drafts were held in both Las Vegas and Atlantic City. This year, the event will be expanded to a third city, with Orlando added to the available draft locations. The draft will take place on September 8th, 2007, with the anticipation that the first place cash award will exceed a quarter of a million dollars. In total, the field of players will be competing for over a million dollars in cash awards.
Dustin Ashby, of GridIron Fantasy Sports LLC, said, "We are enthusiastic about the acquisition and pleased to announce that we will be making substantial investments in the event over the next several years. Lenny and Emil built a wonderful event and we look forward to their continued involvement. We are excited about the opportunity to be a part of the World Championship of Fantasy Football. By leveraging our resources and marketing capabilities, we are confident we can continue to grow this first-class event.â€Â
Emil Kadlec, Principal of Fantasy Championships Inc, said, "Today's announcement represents the natural evolution of the World Championship of Fantasy Football. We are confident GridIron Fantasy Sports is the right partner to take the event to new heights."

Well, considering I am the Jesse Herron in the email and I am a player in the NFBC - one could argue it is somewhat relevant.
Greg and I have a great relationship and we will be finding ways to allow the WCOFF and the NFFC to work together. Perhaps you will even see Greg as a participant in the WCOFF (right Greg or myself in the NFFC.
Now - lets get back to baseball for now.

I assume you are referring to BaseballMafia.com. We had a start to it and then our negotiations to acquire the WCOFF picked up. For the last 8 weeks we have been focused on almost nothing but the WCOFF.
The website is both new and free, so we felt like if we had to take resources from something - they could come from that site. Now that we have closed the deal, we will begin to resource the site again in a few weeks.
Hopefully, eveyone understands.

Now - lets get back to baseball for now. Here's what I posted on the NFFC boards:
For the record, I'm very happy for Lenny and Emil as they have created the path for the high-stakes industry and created a model that others have been able to follow. The NFFC or the NFBC wouldn't be here today if they hadn't first taken the risk in creating this model. I trust they'll still be involved with the WCOFF and they will team with Jesse and Dustin to put on a great event in 2007. Heck, you might even find me in Las Vegas competing, right Jesse?
Secondly, Jesse and Dustin are great, great guys who have a passion for this industry and they will succeed with the WCOFF. If they can bring more exposure to the WCOFF through their marketing efforts, that will only help all of us in this industry. I've had great talks with both guys recently and I'm happy that they were able to pull this off. Both have been in the NFBC and NFFC since our inception and I trust they'll continue to compete with us as well. Right Jesse?
It's all good and we'll grow this year just like they will grow. Again, congrats Lenny and Emil, and congrats Jesse and Dustin. Let's keep this space moving forward together.
I'll add that Jesse and I have talked about doing some things together and we both realize that this space is plenty big for both events to succeed. Who knows, maybe we'll reward owners who compete in both events and give a free entry to the highest ranking team from 2007 in both events. Anything is possible.
As most of you know, Jesse and Dustin are among the most intense NFBC players we have and this is their PASSION and they were able to enter this space because of the PASSION they showed Lenny and Emil. It's all good. Welcome aboard guys and don't lose sight of those NFBC teams while you're working hard on the WCOFF for 2007. I'll see ya in Las Vegas.
