1. How did it feel to win your league title?

I was very excited about winning. There were a lot tough players in the league.

2. What were the keys to your championship season?

I went into the draft wanting David Wright, Grady Sizemore, A. Gonzalez, and Russell Martin. All of them played well for me. I wanted Cole Hamels as my first pitcher and I lucky to get him in the seventh round. Josh Beckett ended up being a steal in the 12 round.

3. What draft day strategies worked best?

I wanted to wait on starting pitching until the seventh round. My starting pitching staff was the strength of my team.

4. Were there any draft day strategies that didn't pan out?

I waited on closers this year. It came back to bite me. On May 1st I had just two saves. Gagne and Dotel were both hurt. I caught a break when Brett Myers was converted to a closer. I finished with 74 saves for the year. If I had another 16 saves, it was worth about a 100 points in the overall standings.

5. How did FAAB work for you?

My best pickups were Chad Billingsley and Dustin McGowan. The one player I had a shot at and missed was Corey Hart.

6. How long have you been playing fantasy baseball/fantasy sports?

I've been playing fantasy sports for 20 years.

7. Personal - single/married/occupation/where do you live?

I'm engaged. I'm either self employed or self unemployed!! I live in Forestdale, Mass.

I heard they were pretty liberal out there in Massachusetts, but this might top it.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. You have been kicking my xxx since we were in the same league in 2004, so do not expect me to go easy on you just because of your impending servitude.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

No bullshit...

We've had 3 guys in our home league get married over the years...and we call it the curse!

Each one of them were solid competitors...but totally tanked the year they got married!

Be it wedding planning...moving in together with a new wife, or the sudden sharing of free time...they just lost focus and had aweful seasons playing fantasy baseball.

We can only DREAM that scenario continues here! :D

Congrats on your third NFBC Championship, Shawn. A truly incredible achievment.

I'll be expecting that natural regression that comes with being an industry "expert". :D

Or maybe I need the money to recover from all the good will I have been putting in to aviod crossing the magical line.

The way this tale is unfolding, I might have to take one for the team at the Fisher Fantasy meetings in September.

I think it would be too much for Patrick to give up his name. He has invested too much too to throw it all away. I don't think he could live with the doubt he might create. The lord cuts him some slack for living in a fantasy world, but it would be wrong to live in world fill with fantasies!!

What is the recommended time to be in the drive through? I might have the world record!!
