Victor Martinez left Monday's game after two innings after injuring his left leg while running the bases.

Anyone see the injury? How bad was it? Hammy or knee?

He probably injured it while laughing at how Buehrle was pitching...
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

From Rotoworld:

Victor Martinez left Monday's game after two innings after injuring his left leg while running the bases.

Martinez appeared to either hyperextend his knee or strain his hamstring while trying to second base on what would have been a passed ball. He was able to walk off the field on his own, but it still might be a DL-type injury. Kelly Shoppach took over behind the plate and would start in his place. Yamil Haad could be called up as a backup if Martinez needs to miss time.

Indians All-Star catcher Victor Martinez was taken for an MRI on his injured left hamstring.

I'm not sure on Vic," Indians manager Eric Wedge said. "He's got something going on with his hamstring. I took a look at him when he came off the field, then I had to get on with the game. We're hoping for the best ."

Gekko's best rotodumper analysis: MRI's are never good and leads us to believe the injury is fairly significant. 90% chance Vic is headed to DL.

The fall didn't look good, big surprise if he isn't DL-bound.

updated info/quotes...

After the game, the Indians did not yet have the results of an MRI performed on the leg. Martinez is listed as day-to-day (ya right).

"It's something going on with his hamstring," manager Eric Wedge said. "I have not received a report, outside of the fact that they're taking a look at it."

"We'll hope for the best and see what we find out," Wedge said.

Pierre's benching got me thinking... Is there or has there been a very productive fantasy fourth outfielder?

Sounds like a question for King of Queens!

Sounds like a question for King of Queens! I don't believe so, Dan. At least not in the main event -- just not enough playing time to make enough of an impact. Guys like Joey Gathright come to mind.

Now if the 4th outfielder were to become a starter, that's a completely different story.

Unless we're talking about Gathright! :D

[/QUOTE]Kinda the other way around....I believe Diaz started, Harris came on the scene about a month into the season...played over his head...returned to being Willie Harris, all the while Diaz was hitting very well.

But what do us lowly satellite participants know? ;)

If so, I have a Pierre to sell you.
