NFBC Mid-Season Leagues

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu May 29, 2008 4:28 am

Once again, we'll provide NFBC Mid-Season Leagues for those owners who need a "second chance" season or for those who just want to win more money the second time around. We'll host these leagues during the All-Star break, on Monday, July 14th, Tuesday, July 15th and Wednesday, July 16th. All of these leagues except one (the Don Mathis League) will start anew with the second half stats.

I'm going to mix things up a bit and offer one afternoon draft the day of the All-Star Game to see if anyone wants to cut out of work and do a "business time" draft and we'll add a West Coast start time on Monday as well. So we'll offer more and see which ones hold mustard this year.

Here's the tentative Schedule of Events. Let me know what you think and if we need to add anything else and I'll get it officially on the Registration link with STATS soon. If you have any interest in any of these before the link is live, just say so here and I'll add a signup list of names on the boards. Thanks all.

Here's the dance card for our "second chance" leagues:

Monday, July 14th:

$500 Entry Fee, Pay Top 3, 7 p.m. EST

$250 Entry Fee, Pay Top 3, 7 p.m. EST

$125 Entry Fee, Winner-take-All, 9 p.m. EST

Tuesday, July 15th:

$125 Entry Fee, Winner-take-All, 2 p.m. EST

$250 Entry Fee, Pay Top 3, 3 p.m. EST

$250 Entry Fee, Pay Top 3, 7 p.m. EST

$250 Don Mathis League (use first half stats of players), Pay Top 3, 7 p.m. EST

Wednesday, July 16th:

$1,000 Entry Fee, Pay Top 3, 7 p.m. EST

$250 Entry Fee, Pay Top 3, 7 p.m. EST

$125 Entry Fee, Winner-take-All, 2 p.m. EST

$125 Entry Fee, Winner-take-All, 9 p.m. EST

Okay, I think I've added all of these correctly. Keep the mid-season signups coming.

Okay, I know that everyone is entrenched in their NFBC leagues and with 102 leagues I realize that's a lot to be entrenched in. :D However, we all need a second chance in life and our mid-season leagues will start in three weeks. If you want or need to get your draft fix once again, we'll be hosting mid-season drafts on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 14-16 at $125, $250, $500 and $1,000 levels. Come and join us.

At the very least, we should fill a few $125 Winner-take-All leagues. Who doesn't want a free entry into next year's main event?? ;)

Anyway, you can sign up on your MY TEAMS area and we won't hit any credit cards until the leagues are full. Check out the signup list pinned at the top of the General Discussion Forum and sign up now to win more cash prizes. Thanks all.

And I know that only Major League Baseball could have a mid-season classic well past the middle of the season, but that's what has happened this year with the season starting early and the All-Star Game being late. By July 14th, 58% of the MLB season will be past for some teams.

However, I'm still going to keep the minimum innings pitched level at half of our NFBC main event, so the MIP will be 350. For the Don Mathis League, it will remain at 700. Hope this helps as you plan your strategy for these leagues.

NOW SIGN UP!!! :D Let's fill 5-6 leagues and have some fun during the All-Star break. It's a quick dash to the finish line and a lot of fun.
