halfway point quickly approaching!!! a motivational speech!!

wooooow!!!!! how time flies but this weekend most, if not all, will have played 81 games. how are you feeling?? if you are like myself football is not even a glimmer in my eye yet. fantasy baseball is a "war of attrition" a "marathon" etc...etc...what i love about the game is that i ALWAYS think i have a chance to win, not just place. fortunes can change so quickly....heck i have seen 20 point swings in a night in august and september..a couple of key injuries or promotions or duck snorts can change an entire season so please be like jimmy v.(i dont know about you but that speech always makes me well up!!) and NEVER GIVE UP!!!! now rally the troops... schedule that teleconfernce call to the squad.. and DO NOT start studying for football just yet and make a friggan run "at it" damnit!! and dont be a quitter!!! if nothing else your league mates will appreciate it!!!

I would actually prefer if my entire league would quit, except me of course, so quit rallying the troops :D It sure is a long season, it seems like almost two months since Rafael Furcal last played in a game  Oh we'll get well soon Rafael, there's alot of us counting on you! Been a fun first half of the season! I do look forward to an Arroyo free 2nd half of the season!! Only four more days until I can drop that peice of garbage!!! Good luck everyone the 2nd half of the season! Oh crap, I have a football draft in 25 minutes, time to start prepping!!

Is it just me or have the Baseball boards gone dead? You go over to the Football side of things and it is very active. Are those the guys that are "out" of it in Baseball or what? All I know is if the 2nd half is anything like the 1st it is going to be awesome! The standings in LV10 are tight and we have 7 teams really fighting it out with a handful more sitting there close to making a serious run. Best of luck to all of you in a close race!

Unfortunately it's all about sales.

Sell the event like crazy...then move to the hype for the next event.

[/QUOTE]Lance, are you saying that I'M the one who isn't keeping the NFBC boards active? I think Tom and I provide the weekly updates and stay as active on the boards during the season as possible, but obviously we can't create threads like "how much do you think Rookie A will go this week in FAAB" with so much on the line? So our role DURING the season as MB operators is obviously much different than BEFORE the season.

It's up to you crazies to keep the MBs going through the season. But honestly, I think folks are more interested in the standings than the chatter during the season.

Tom and I are trying to create MB activity on the football boards because there's plenty to talk about right now before the season. But we still love our baseball addicts, trust me. ;)

I'd say 99% of what you and Tom post has "sales" or "hype" as the motivator...I'm just stating the obvious here...nothing wrong with that.

The "Chatter" is only important when the signups are coming in...right?

I don't think the NFBC has to start topics all the time. However, I do think it would be really cool if Greg or Tom would actually respond to the "ask the nfbc a question" questions that come up such as the 'Free Agents' thread which went to 7 pages and we never got an answer on (I just bumped it) and the more recent 'Stats Error?' thread. Thanks in advance for attention paid to these matters.
