Eric Albright Is Week 16 Winner
It’s been quite a ride for Eric Albright and David Shoup in Chicago League 2 this season. Not only is their Delt Thunder IV team ranked in the Top 10 in the NFBC’s overall standings but it achieved an impressive accomplishment last week.
Back-to-back first-place weekly finishes.
After topping the NFBC field in Week 15, Delt Thunder IV grabbed the top spot again in Week 16, finishing with with 3,234 points.
Big weeks from Edgar Gonzalez (.444-2-5-6), Mike Aviles (.417-2-4), Adam Dunn (.300-2-4) and Nick Swisher (.333-1-4) led the way offensively. Felix Hernandez, Matt Garza and Justin Verlander combined for three wins and 17 strikeouts to lead the pitching staff.
“David and I are really thrilled to have the top team in the NFBC for two straight weeks,” Albright said. “We knew we had a monster day on Sunday, but had no clue that we had a shot at the weekly title again
“We have eight quality starting pitchers and two current closers so we had the difficult decision of sitting a starter last week and decided on Zack Grienke. He was torched by the White Sox and that lucky decision allowed us to finish on top.
“Being seventh in the nation is going to make the rest of the season really enjoyable for the both of us. We enjoy the entire NFBC experience more and more every year and would consider ourselves lifers”

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
