NFBC will always sell out!

Greg, Sorry you didn't make your target in the NFFC. But hey your dealing with wimpy fantasy football types there. You'll never have that problem here in the NFBC! It's a higher class of player. Except for taking that Pete Rose baseball I would never accept money to promote the NFBC. Money no way. Dinner and Beer yes! Win or lose Las Vegas 2009! :D :D :D

Yes, we didn't hit our targets in 2008 football, but we went from 364 teams in the NFFC to 308 teams in the NFFC and 252 teams in our NBC event. We gambled with the two-main event format and we learned an awful lot...the hard way. I will consider 2008 a success in football in every way except for financially. But thankfully we're big enough to withstand a one-year financial hit with the goal of building a better model for the long-term future.

The things we learned in football will play out in a positive way for baseball, I believe. I think we learned that if we add a unique two-main event format that folks will play both events. We had 163 teams play in our 14-team NFFC format and our 12-team NBC Sports format at $1300 per team. I would like to create an NFBC doubleheader in 2009 as well, although not at the same price points and I don't think both on the same day. I'm still trying to work through all of this and next week I will begin laying out my plan and asking for feedback.

Our $1 million bonus was well received and helped us achieve good numbers in both main events. Again, I'd like to make that available in baseball too if I can figure out how to do it. I'm working on it and I think it will work, but I need to do a little more studying. Look for some ideas next week.

The NFBC should be strong this year and I'm not going to project a bigger main event total for 2009, not with the economy what it is now. I hope to sell out what we advertise and not try to get too big. By offering a second main event, overall I think we can grow without getting too big in one event. And with any luck, the economy will pick up and March will feel better than August. :D

Thanks again my die-hard baseball participants. You are a very special group and nobody realizes that more than me. Good luck down the stretch and in four weeks we'll begin taking signups for NFBC VI. Wow, how cool is that?
