Post by Gordon Gekko » Tue Sep 30, 2008 10:25 pm

i think the latest debacle deserves a whole new thread in addition to the one started yesterday.

leagues are wrong.

overall standings are wrong.

STATS has OFFICIALLY screwed up the two BIGGEST days of the fantasy baseball season.

i know you heard a lot of STATS bashing yesterday, but there is ZERO quality control at STATS. ZERO.

this is totally unbelieveable and UNACCEPTABLE. how can we as customers have faith in STATS or the stats they will "re-run" yet again for seemingly the 100th time? what a bad, bad way to end the season.

greg - i think STATS is going to cost you some business next year if they can't promise to correct their shortcomings.

ps - tell STATS that they have to go out to the 5th or 6th decimal point for ERA, WHIP, and batting average. some leagues will need this shown TODAY to determine who wins money.

I can't believe my eyes. After all the crap they took from us yesterday it is even worse today.

how can we be assured when STATS reruns the stats, that an rbi here or an run there wasn't missed? did STATS sleep in on "How to be a Back-end Provider 101 Day"?

there's also a potential STATS hurricane brewing on the NFFC boards. apparently there is a scoring issue where the weekly scoring changes were made effective after the NFFC's firm Thursday deadline. my team isn't involved in that one, so i don't know all the details, but it doesn't look good.

STATS FAILS AGAIN. AMAZING!!!!!!! They need to straighten out their act. They should be giving the NFBC a massive discount for their shortcomings this year.

It looks like my two league standings are correct now and it looks like the overall standings are correct (ignoring the "Change" column) as far as where I expected my team to be goes. Weekly Stats appears correct from the "Stats" section appears correct for "Week 27", but "Fantasy YTD" is not yet.

It looks like the problem has been noted by STATS! and each area is being corrected.

For myself, I had recorded my weekly stats during the course of the year. It appears what STATS! has recorded as my final cumulative stats and position in my Main Event League on the League Standings page is correct now.

Suggestion to STATS! It appears the "extra" week presented problems for their backend. In addition to a "Week 0" for the early games, I would suggest planning on a "Week 27" from here on out in order to address that potential going forward as their back-end appears inflexible to active years changes and their testing routines inadequate to insure 100% accuracy on a next daily reporting period basis.

I am personally sorry for everyone's issues and I sure I would be in the same boat if I were fortunate enough to have so much on the line. Easier said than done, but try not to let these unfortunate late season glitches run what otherwise has been a great year for you and trust, as I feel we all do, that Greg and Tom and team will make sure it is right in the end.

Just thoughts.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

My "Fantasy YTD" statistics from the "Stats" section is now correct.

STATS! appears to be successfully re-running the evening activity.

STATS Meltdown!

Post by Top Dawg » Wed Oct 01, 2008 1:02 am

Yesterday I woke up and saw I had moved from 11th overall ($1300/free entry) into 12th overall. Of course I was not happy, but learned to accept it.

Later in the day, I learned there was a stats problem and after correcting it I was back in 11th (happy, happy, joy, joy).... but only by 1.0 points.

Today I woke up (several times in fact last night) and at 3:30 AM I saw the "update" and my team was nowhere near the top - stats error again.... Unreal

Now I see the "correction" and I hung on for 11th. Do you think I can celebrate yet or is there another correction "yet to come"???

I will look back several times just to make sure it is real. Fortunately this is only for $1300 and not for $100K (actually, I should say "unfortunately" but you get my drift).

All other issues aside, Greg and Tom have been GREAT!

greg - i think STATS is going to cost you some business next year if they can't promise to correct their shortcomings. Hold on. This is not a meltdown. What STATS did very early this morning was double check all stats to make sure everything was correct. They e-mailed me to tell me what was going on and said everything would be finished shortly.

I'm not sure why that process was viewable by you folks at 5:30 in the morning, but all standings and stats this morning are final, double-checked and good to go. Nothing was re-run, they were double-checked for accuracy.

Thanks for a good 2008 season. Congrats to all of the winners.

Pete First of all, you weren't supposed to be up at 3:30 in the morning checking your NFBC stats!!! :D Seriously, the stats are correct, double-checked and you are good to celebrate today. Congrats Pete on the season you had been hoping for since 2004!!! Oh, and I trust you're wearing your NBC Sports polo shirt today as well. :D

Congrats and sorry again for the confusion.

Just thoughts. Correct Wayne. The Week 27 was not handled correctly initially by STATS and I'm not sure why since we had a Week 27 last year, too. I talked with STATS for quite awhile last night and they agreed that this shouldn't have been a problem, but Week 27 doubled the stats for the Monday night game and that started the problems. We re-ran those results just like we've done in the past when there's been an error in scoring from the night before, but with this being the second to last day of the season the problem was magnified -- AND RIGHTLY SO.

There was no error in scoring last night, but STATS took it upon itself to re-run all results first thing this morning to double check the results. As they just said to me, "we felt 4:30 am was an early enough time to do this." Well, as I just told them, "our guys didn't sleep last night waiting for these final standings." Sheesh.

So now we have an ending to our season, Week 0 through Week 27. Bash as you will, but I've presented what has happened this morning and the results are accurate and there for all to enjoy. Sorry for any confusion before this point.

Let me chime in by saying that STATS hiccups or not the NFBC is the ONLY game in town for me and always will be. What we all get from Tom/Greg can not duplicated anywhere else and im proud to be a charter member.

[/QUOTE]Greg – STATS didn’t simply double-check the stats, the stats in PRODUCTION were CHANGED!?!?!?!? PRODUCTION data is NEVER changed during a “double-check”. NEVER. That is a MELTDOWN in my book. STATS keeps feeding you lines of BS. No doubt in my mind.

Thank God the season is over, and I don’t have to deal with STATS anymore (at least from a baseball-end).

One last thing: Can you (through STATS) verify that ALL stats currently viewable are guaranteed 100% accurate?

That's 2:01 am CT.

The reports that were listed were based off using the stats for Week 1, and Week 1 only. I verified this by checking my team stats page for Week 1 in all 4 leagues and the stats were exactly the same.

Can you explain this one??

Xavier Nady is now the #1 ranked player overall.

Good ole' Ryan Church makes an appearance on the list at #24, follwed by everyone's favorite speed demon, Michael Bourn at #28.

Heck, an injured Eric Byrnes is ranked #71.

Can anybody explain this one??
