Bobby has been with the NFBC since 2005 and in his fourth season of the main event he walked away with a league title, the $100,000 grand prize and even TWO FREE ENTRIES for 2009. It was a season to remember for Bobby, whose picture will grace the next cover of Fantasy Sports Magazine in a few months. Get pretty in a hurry Bobby!!

Okay, congrats to Bobby and the 100+ other league champs from 2008. It was a great season as we ran 108 leagues in 2008, including over 40 live event leagues. As everyone knows, each year I like to personally welcome all of our new members to the National Fantasy Baseball Championship and I'll do so this year in this thread. This gives everyone a chance to know a little bit about our newest signups and our past players. A lot of our members return to the NFBC each year, so it's good to know how each owner fared the year before. I'll give you that info with each new signup here as we begin our sixth season of the NFBC (NFBC VI).
It's appropriate that our first official signup of 2009 is the defending champ, Bobby Jurney. Bobby will be returning to Chicago for the main event this year after winning Chicago League 2 with 131.5 points. His Some Assembly Required 4 team was 384th overall after Week 1 and dropped to 389th in Week 2 before suddenly making a steady climb up the ladder. He finally moved into first place with two weeks to go in the season and never looked back, finishing with 3,269.5 points to win by 56 points. This was Bobby's second league title as he also won in 2006 when he finished 41st overall. In 2005, he finished 160th overall and last year he finished 345th. So in one year, Bobby went from 345th to FIRST!!
Bobby also led two Winner-Take-All satellite teams to league titles this year, leading Team Jurney to the March 23rd title with 112.5 points and the March 26th team to a league title with 102.5 points. Great, great job Bobby and congrats again. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. See ya in Chicago on Saturday, March 21st.
