Suggestions for improving layout.........

Post by Crazy Like a Fox » Mon Dec 01, 2008 8:39 pm

I really think the layout for looking up stats for players/positions is not user friendly at all. It's so much easier for me on Yahoo to lookup available free agents, last week's stats, last month's, last year's, 2006 stats, 2005 stats, home road splits, all nicely organized. Also much bigger font size and just all-around more nicely laid out. I'm sure I'm not alone here.

If this is going to be the #1 fantasy place to play, why not have a top notch layout? It really leaves a lot to be desired IMHO.

Is there any way there can be an improvement here?

Greg or Tom, please feel free to chime in.

Ill have to agree with Kelly on this. Having all outfielders, pitchers on the same page would help. Its hard to look though 5 or 6 pages at different postions to see who's available. Any improvements in this area would be extremly helpful, especially for guys that do multiple leagues.

Having a 'list all' option to list all players at a position on one web page, rather than just one set of 50 players at a time would be nice.

... and using the same name structure as the position eligibility lists or vice versa would be helpful ... use FirstName LastName or LastName, FirstName but not both.

And I'm not trying to bash this setup, I just want it to be easier to navigate. It takes me less than 10 seconds on yahoo to find out all available free agents at a particular position and a ranking of any category or overall 5x5 ranking. It's not so easy on this site.

And the frustrating part is there haven't been any real improvements in the 2 years I've been attending leagues here. I hope this is something that atleast gets looked at. My thing is, why try and re-invent the wheel. Yahoo has it setup perfectly. "Do what they do and you'll have what they got". Just my personal opinion, not everyone likes Yahoo's setup.

I have mentioned this before, not sure if it has been attempted. Sorry if this request is redundant. The ability to pull up a fellow lg member's live stats is awesome. Would be great to be able to pull up non lg member's live stats as well.

[/QUOTE]Not to be the contrarion, but what does Yahoo do that they don't do here? The only thing I can think of that they don't have is stats for the previous 30 days. There are some non-Yahoo things here that would be difficult to live without like games started for pitchers and at bats for hitters.

I will say that Yahoo is aesthetically far more pleasing. The number one way that the NFBC can improve w/r/t new customers would be to hire a web designer and she can start with these boards, imho.

Exactly what I'm trying to say. "Aesthetically" speaking, the league pages and stat layout is mediocre at best. And the fact the pitching and hitting categories load up separately in "live scoring" is annoying.
