Cornhusker, I have added you to each option, hopefully we can get one of them filled. (Sorry, but not sure of your name).

As far as draft times, we would probably be looking at week night, but whatever works for everyone. I think we need to get some more interest before we try to lock in a date/time.

BorderBrat - sounds good. I have added you to both. We'll get a time worked out as soon as we get a couple more people interested.

$125 NL or AL only DRAFT/ONE SPOT LEFT FOR AL DRAFT THURSDAY NIGHT

Post by Cornhusker » Fri Feb 13, 2009 1:57 am

I would love to do a saturday afternoon draft if possible. I have basketball games and many other drafts on week nights so it may be hard to pick a random date that works for me. I know that the slow drafts I have been in made the most progress on saturday afternoons as well.

How does Saturday, March 7th sound? About 1pm ET?

How about for the others interested?

[/QUOTE]I would prefer to go later in the month if possible to have a better idea of how the position battles might shake out especially since it is a single league draft. How bout the same time on March 14 or March 21?

Hi,

I haven't been on the boards much but have done an auction in Vegas the last few years and would definitely be up for a $125 NL only satellite if you get one together. A regular draft might be difficult for me schedule-wise, but it's possible, and of course a slow draft would definitely work.

The slow draft may work. That would help somewhat with player battles, although some may not be decided right up until a week or so before the season starts.

If we push back to March 14, we may not finish a slow draft, but if we move it up a little, I think we could fill one or even both of them. The slow drafts seem for $125 seem to fill somewhat quickly. Let's see if we can get Tom/Greg to add these to the slow draft lists.

Are you all good with shooting for Feb 28th or March 7th to start a slow draft? I want to leave as much time as possible to complete one. The 45 round ones I was in took 2-3 weeks, so q regular 30 should need no more than 2 weeks. Let's nail down a start time and get it added to the list. Thank you for posting.

I am sure we can find something that works for everyone.

Katherine How is Vegas? I have only drafted in NY. Would you be looking to complete this (or most of it before the main event weekend?)

Vegas is always a blast -- I've just done auctions but even on Friday before the main event action starts it's a great atmosphere. If we get an NL league together w/ a slow draft, I'm completely open as to the time frame. I assume we can control the amount of time between picks? I've never done one before but it seems like it might easily get bogged down as people are tempted to wait as long as possible to make their picks just in case one more day of spring training/WBC brings any news that might affect a decision. At any rate, I'm definitely up for starting any time that makes sense if we can get a league formed.

I am sure we can find something that works for everyone. Can we have Greg add it as a satellite draft for March 14 or 21 first before going the slow draft route. We can guage interest in a draft first which would require a lot less time on our parts. If there is not enough interest, we can go the slow draft route.

The 21st would be out. That is the weekend of the live drafts and auctions. We could try the 14th, but the satellites usually begin to slow up a little the week before the live events weekend.

The slow drafts have been using a 12 hour "on the clock" time period. This has been working well, as it allows the owners time to think about how they want, as well as not be rushed to get back to computer when it's your turn.

How about we set up a slow draft for the NL only and set a date, say the 14th for the AL only? This way we are covering both bases.

I think we have to get a little more interest before Greg or Tom will add it to the list.

Greg/Tom, how many do we need before we can add a league to the satellite thread? We currently have 4 for a AL Only on Sat 3/14 at 1PM ET.

Thank you!

Mike

I did talk with Geoff at MockDraftCentral.com yesterday and he can set up AL-only or NL-only drafts for us if we get enough demand for this. Let me know if the interest is there and we'll set this up.

Greg, if I'm not mistaken, now we got the original NFBC champ wanting in both leagues - that should be motivation enough for others to want to join - a shot at one of the best! :D

We have 6 in NL only, which owners were happy with a slow draft, starting as soon as it fills and 5 in the AL Only, drafting on Saturday, March 14th at 1pm ET.

I think if you add the these to the sat's list, they will sell out quickly - for some reason, you seem to have more pull around here than me!
