Fantasy Questions
A few questions to ponder.
1.What is the better value and why?
Adam Dunn in the 7th round or Jack Cust in the 21st?
2.Chris Young or Lastings Milledge in the 8th or Mike Cameron in the 14th?
3.If Jose Reyes actually does hit 3rd in spring training and has all the earmarks of hitting 3rd during the season, does this move him up or down on your lists?
4. Lincecum or Santana?
These should provide interesting answers, my (honest, Lance) answers follow.
1. I don't want either. Punch is just as bad as Judy. If I had to make a choice it would be Cust. The round would give me better value.
2. I liked both Milledge and Young last year, they look like mirages now...or even worse, like Cameron. Again, I would take Cameron, not hurting the draft as much.
3. A few less sb's, a lot more rbi. I like the tradeoff, I've never been a fan of Reyes in the first round, but this would get my interest.
4.Its all about the peripherals. Santana with an improved bullpen behind him and better team should get more wins and if you want as much of a sure thing as a pitcher gets you're taking Santana.
At the same time, Lincecum is on the way up, while Santana is going over the top of the hill. Lincecum will have the upper hand on k's. Lincecum doesen't have to show me twice, I'll take him and make up wins later.

The last thing i want to see as a fantasy player and as a Mets fan is Reyes batting 3rd.His stolen bases will take a major hit and he will all of a sudden think he's a 40 homer guy which he's not.I think this whole thing is a psychological ploy by Jerry Manuel to light a fire under Luis Castillo's ass.

Something about how Lastings played in August and September has me thinking something clicked in his approach. (still had too many K's, and is caught stealing too often for how fast he is.)
His floor in 2009 will be at a reasonable level IMO, and his ceiling will be worth the gamble.

Adam Dunn in the 7th round or Jack Cust in the 21st?
Neither.
2.Chris Young or Lastings Milledge in the 8th or Mike Cameron in the 14th?
This year...none of the above. Young disappoints on average. Milledge disappoints on hr. Cameron might be best, but that avg is a killer.
3.If Jose Reyes actually does hit 3rd in spring training and has all the earmarks of hitting 3rd during the season, does this move him up or down on your lists?
Down.
4. Lincecum or Santana?
I don't see myself taking either. I could be lured by the good season lincecum had or the consistently good season's santana had, but it would need to be after my top tier hitters are all gone...mid 3rd round.

I wonder why Rockwell isn't on this thread arguing about how Dan is giving it all away and blasting him for having a bad year!

Out of our group of 390, Shawn probably gets the most credit for being a consistent winner in the NFBC. With that in mind, if Shawn gets on the Boards and touts Joe Mauer, is that going to move Mauer from his 4-6 round adp? I doubt it, if you like Mauer, it will bolster your positive thoughts about him, if you don't like Mauer as a 4-6 rounder, Shawn's opinion probably won't change much in your mind, unless you're a very poor player and had so little confidence in yourself that you turned the light switch on Mauer from off to on.
Same with Shandler, I didn't see Joba going in the first couple of rounds because of a RonLove for Joba. Santana, Lincecum, and Sabathia have been the norm and Joba is nowhere near the top 10, let alone top of the heap. They're just opinions, some mean more than others to certain people. But before the draft, 100's of opinions will be heard and the only one that'll matter will be yours as you're calling out your player's name.
That all being said, Chest is also right. Crazy did "give away" something in his thread and every savvy fantasy player would know how to use it should they enter a league with Crazy.
He gave him good advice.

It really matters if you commit that crime.

Message board etiquette is that nobody really cares who you value, but just to be safe, spread your opinions out as to not allow any competition to have a good read on you!
or...
When the MB chatter resembles the PM chatter...it gets squashed, which REALLY lets everyone know who the squashers value! (No replies to Crazy's thread would have not leaked how some players value mentioned players)
