Good question GA. This year we are going to fill up a $1300 Mixed Auction League in New York and a $650 Mixed Auction League, but we aren't even sniffing an AL-only or NL-only Auction League in the Big Apple. I find that incredible on the East Coast, but it's not the end of the world. We still will have two auction leagues in NY, but I'm still surprised that we can't get a single only auction league among all the players we have on the East Coast. Greg - check your e-mails later. I might be able to help you close out the $650 mixed in NYC.

OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

Greg -
At least 5 closers seem to lose their job every year.
Who are 5 this year and who replaces them?

He worked closely with a lot of these guys along with Maddux and I think things will be okay. Maddux really did a great job with the young pitchers, but it's not like they brought in someone knew who needs all spring to introduce himself and his style to the staff. They all know Castro already.

Rollins - do you think 2009 is more like 2007 or 2008?
What do you think of Matt Holliday? Crazy seems down on him, maybe a little too much for me. He explained why, but I don't see less than 20 HR's, unless he misses some time.

Willing to have facial-hair competition with Jeff Erickson? I don't look at all of the satellite league rosters, but for the most part I think most drafts are similar. The one difference is that in satellite leagues there might be a team or two who try new strategies or maybe punt one category or more to try and win that way. You can't really do that in the main event. I always tell everyone that if someone wants to try something like that, you need to identify what is going on and make sure you adjust as well to make sure you get enough power or strikeouts or saves or whatever category is now going quicker than expected.
I'll say Big Ten Pub on State Street.
Erickson doesn't have any facial hair, does he? I'm not even sure he's keeping the hair he has on the top of this head.
No problems in that department for yours truly.

What chance do you give Teahen or Schumaker to stick at 2B (even long enough to gain eligability)?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

What do you think of Chris Dickerson? What kind of value does he bring?
What about Jayson Werth? Can he handle full season and as Phillies primary right handed batter, where do you stick him in the line up?
After Reyes and Tavares, who else breaks 50sbs this year?

Zach Greinke is going in the eighth round and could be a top pitcher on an up-and-coming team. A feel-good story.
Brett Myers could continue what he finished last year and get some love.
Scott Baker and Kevin Slowey could be strong starters on a team that challenges for the divisional title.
John Maine won't challenge for a Cy Young, but could bounce back nicely while going in the second half of NFBC drafts.

). He played second base in college, he's played third and first in the pros and his stick is better-than-average for a second baseman. I'd put him there and see if he can make the transition.

After Reyes and Tavares, who else breaks 50sbs this year? I have to admit, I've never seen Dickerson play. But I'd like to see a guy who is 6'3", 226 who stole 49 bases in the minors over the last two years. He's intriguing, but there's a reason he was still in the majors at the age of 27. This is NOT your Age 27 breakout, but we'll see.
I like Werth a lot. He settled in nicely in the second spot and his .363 OBP is solid. I think this is a pretty tough lineup with him up that high in the order.
Rollins could certainly steal 50 and so could Brian Roberts. Carlos Gomez sure looks like he could steal 50 someday, if not this year. Denard Span won't steal 50 this year, but whoa I like his upside.

But anyone who is projecting a better season than the one he had last year could be disappointed. That's an incredible season. Buy low, sell high.
Lee was having a very quiet, solid season last year before he got hurt. The guy can just flat out rake. He hit .314-28-100 in only 115 games. Yeah, I think he can go .300-30-100 this year...in his sleep.

I like Crede, but I tend to stay away from players with back injuries. That explains Rolen, doesn't it?

It begins with Vernon Wells, who at 30 is poised for a monster season. He has been limited to 36 homers the past two years because of shoulder and back injuries and a broken wrist, but this winter he hired a trainer from the Athletes Performance Institute in Tempe, Ariz., took the trainer to his home in Dallas, brought him to spring training and will continue to use him all season, for a total investment of between $150,000 and $200,000.
"The workouts have made a big difference in flexibility and strength," says Wells.
- this just in off of Rotoworld - Vernon Wells suffered a strained left hamstring on Monday and could miss a month or more.
In spring training pre games nontheless. You're kidding me right ?? Bunch of candy lands out there. What's wrong with today's player Greg ?
I think there's not enough fat in today's muscle. There's too much muscle in the muscle these days and that's not good.

Man, $150,000-$200,000 for a private trainer. I'm in the wrong occupation. Yeah, there's something up when these fine-tuned athletes seem to pull oblique muscles and hamstrings and calf muscles in the easiest of situations. I don't get it. All I know is that we pull fewer musclese out here at noon with 15 "fat" guys than they do at one Blue Jays' batting practice.
