NFBC Online Championship Update: Closing Out Leagues

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Mar 23, 2009 8:32 am

Okay, I just went through all of the Online Championship League signups from the weekend and as of this minute we are at 526 paid teams. We have sold out 5 of the 16 draft dates and will pick the leagues that just sold out today by tomorrow or tonight when Tom gets back from New York. We should be closing out a few more leagues very soon and will get those draft picks out quickly as well.

If we just close out the leagues we have available right now, we'll be at 576 teams, or 38 leagues. That would allow us to probably add one more league on 4/3 at 9:00 and one more league on 4/4 at 4:00. That would put us at 600 teams and a $40,000 grand prize. At this point, I guess that's the goal, but let's sell out all of the open leagues first.

Here's the latest update of available leagues and how many spots are open in each one. Once these leagues are full with a perfect 12-team figure, we'll close them out and take them off the signup page. This has been a PHENOMENAL debut for the NFBC Online Championship and I couldn't be happier with the response and the excitement. And remember, we have the $75,000 cash bonus to anyone who can win this overall title and the main event overall title. I hope someone does it.

Okay, here's the breakdown of available leagues and it's first-come, first-served for these last leagues:

Saturday, March 28th, 1 p.m. EST: 4 spots left for a 5th full league

Saturday, March 28th, 5 p.m. EST: SOLD OUT, 24 teams

Sunday, March 29th, 1 p.m. EST: SOLD OUT, 36 teams

Sunday, March 29th, 5 p.m. EST: 3 spots left, 45 teams to date

Monday, March 30th, 7 p.m. EST: SOLD OUT, 36 teams

Monday, March 30th, 9 p.m. EST: SOLD OUT, 24 teams

Tuesday, March 31st, 7 p.m. EST: 4 spots left, 20 teams to date

Tuesday, March 31st, 9 p.m. EST: 1 spot left, 35 teams to date

Wednesday, April 1st, 2 p.m. EST: SOLD OUT, 24 teams

Wednesday, April 1st, 7 p.m. EST: 8 spots left, 16 teams to date

Thursday, April 2nd, 7 p.m. EST: 7 spots left, 29 teams now

Thursday, April 2nd, 9 p.m. EST: 5 spots left, 43 teams now

Friday, April 3rd, 7 p.m. EST: 2 spots left, 22 teams now

Friday, April 3rd, 9 p.m. EST: 4 spots left, 44 teams now

Saturday, April 4th noon EST: 7 spots left, 29 teams now

Saturday, April 4th, 4 p.m. EST: 2 spots left, 46 teams now

Okay, let's close out the last two weekend openings and pick these draft slots by tomorrow. We have FOUR spots left for Saturday's 1 pm ET draft and THREE spots left for Sunday's 5 pm ET draft. Who wants those final spots?? :D

Let's close this out at 600 teams and give away $40,000 to the overall champion!!! I'm excited now.

WOW!

That's twice the payout for a 2nd place finish in the Main Event with only 50% more teams and 1/4 the entry?

Sounds like a no-brainer. Hop on board guys. This is going to be the biggest "movement" in fantasy baseball history. Lifetime rankings attached. You've got to be kidding me. I love it.

$40,000 for Crazy. Sounds good.

A quick update - we have only 1 spot left for the March 28th 1 pm ET league. If you want it, sign up online as soon as possible. It isn't likely to stay open for much longer.

When will we recieve the draft orders for these leagues?

Are the Sold Outs up first, or are you waiting to release these all at once? Thx.
I’m curious as to how the lifetime rankings would work. Some owners have 1 team and other owners will have 3+. Then compound that over a couple of years.

We had an owner move out of the April 1st 2 p.m. EST league. If you want the spot, sign up today or contact me with your KDS and we'll pick the draft order for those two leagues today.
I was thinking the same thing. How about averaging the finishes? That's the only fair way although it skews the numbers a little.

Do you think it's a benefit or a negative as far as having more than one team as far as overall rankings? I would lean toward the positive.

What do you guys think?
