New York Hotel Options

Does anyone have a list of hotels that are within a couple of blocks of the Hilton. I'm curious as to options that are a reasonable walking distance from the pricey Hilton.

The Sheraton is down the block from the Hilton. There is also a little known hotel that's a block from the Hilton called the Flatotel. They sometimes have reasonable rates by Manhattan standards and they have large rooms. The others that are somewhat close, like the W and the Paramount are overpriced and the rooms are so tiny they barely fit the bed. There is another Sheraton across from the main Sheraton, and that is a little cheaper, I believe it's an older building but by all accounts it's an OK place to stay. There's more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Couple more quick thoughts: The Wellington is about 3 blocks from the Hilton, may be slighter cheaper. Also keep in mind that there is a Holiday Inn and a Best Western that are within 8-10 blocks from the Hilton and obviously they would be alot cheaper though I can't vouch for how they are as hotels. Hope this helps.
