Overcoming Wang and a bad start . . .

Post by Return of the Aces » Tue Apr 21, 2009 3:26 am

With Wang sinking my pitching staff, I currently have a 6.54 team era. Essentially, my team era will need to go at least 3.73 the rest of the way to get under 4.00.

I have Halladay, Sabathia, and C. Zambrano anchoring my staff with Lannan, E. Jackson and Braden (not to mention Wang). Is it feasible to project a sub 4 era at the end of the year?

Halladay and Sabathia SHOULD have ERA's below 4.00 at the end of the season, but I wouldn't count on Zambrano.

The Wanger has put you in a mighty big hole.

Good luck! :D

Yes, it is feasible.

We are only 3 weeks into the season. Also, your math is wrong on your projection of your estimation on your era. You don't have to have a 3.73 era to close in on a 4.00. Thats hard to calculate right now, because you don't know how many innings you will pitch by the end of the year.

Now...if your pitching keeps getting rocked, you can kiss a 4.00 era good-bye.

I am not that far behind you...I don't have Wang, but I have started Nick Blackburn, Andrew Miller (my latest smart start), Houston Street, Mike Pelfrey, etc. I haven't figured it out yet...would I rather have 5 bad bums or 1 horrible bum? I think I would rather have Wang

Perhaps a better title for this thread:

Did I really say that, I will need a repeat performance this year from the looks of things.

But to answer the original question. To put it real simply
