Reyes to DL?

Post by Gordon Gekko II » Thu May 21, 2009 3:04 am

Jose Reyes headed to New York for tests on his injured right calf Wednesday night and could wind up on the disabled list.

The bIg question is...will he be DL'd before 12am 2night? I don't have him on any teams, but I will keep an eye out for all his owners today.

Since the Mets do not play today, I am not optimistic that he will be DL'd today. Any transaction will probably be officially announced tomorrow.

Judging by Rickie Weeks seeing a specialist...Reyes could be out for the season.

From what I saw, he shouldn't have been playing anyways. I understand the Mets "need" him right now, but did they forget it's a 162 game season? Having him in September is more important than May.

And if he doesn't stop swinging for the fences during every at bat, he's not going to be much of a help for the fake teams or the real one.

From Yahoo.com and Rotoworld.com

Mets’ Reyes day to day with tendinitis in leg

1 hour, 9 minutes ago

NEW YORK (AP)—Mets shortstop Jose Reyes has tendinitis behind his right calf and is listed as day to day.

Reyes had an MRI exam Thursday in New York. The Mets were off, and open a weekend series Friday night in Boston.

Reyes left Wednesday night’s 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third inning after aggravating his calf problem. The injury had forced him to miss five games. Reyes is the Mets’ all-time stolen base leader.

Ramon Martinez(notes) replaced Reyes in the lineup in the loss at Dodger Stadium.

So, he probably will sit the next few days without the benefit of the DL. Do you play him next week? I don't know if it is worth the risk.

Jose Reyes had another setback and will fly back to NY on Thursday to be reviewed by Dr. Coleman. Apparently, he is having trouble with his right knee near the calf strain.

Will this guy ever contribute in 2009? How would you adjust his stat projections for the rest of the season?

There are rumblings today that Jose Reyes may be done for the season. Wow, I wonder if he will crack the 1st or 2nd rounds in next season's draft?

I know that the one team I have him on is the one team that has no chance at this point - nicely paired him with Gevany Soto on that team.

I have Reyes on 4 of 8 teams. Lets just say its been a long season for the Long Gone organization.

Its so hard to compete when any first round selection dosen't give you something near what you expect. It screws up the whole team. Its just the oppisite when you get the first rounder that exceeds expectation like BIG ALBERT.

I took Reyes in a $125 top 3 satellite, and all but a couple days, I have led "wire to wire".

Currently have a 10 point lead, and HOPEFULLY will get Tori Hunter back for next week, as I need his bat badly!

Thank god for Matt Kemp, as he is keeping me afloat. :D

I took Josh Hamilton in three leagues this year and in all three I have no chance of winning my league and am in the middle of the pack.

What a piece of crap Hamilton was this year... :( At least with Reyes it is easy to bench him. I know I should bench Hamilton but can't get my self to do it. :(
