Some others I thought of - worth mentioning for fun - but not Top 10 material

Mrs.Garret - Different Strokes

Charles(Scott baio)- Charles in Charge

Nell Carter - Gimme a Break Doughboys, if this was the bottom of the barrel for added suggestions, then I think you now have all of the nominations in front of you for a revised list. I think the NFBC members – like me – covered you with the missing links from your list.

So your job today, now that you have all of the subjects in front of you, is to revise your Top 10 list with the likes of Aunt Bee and give us your NEW Top 10 list. Your paper must be submitted before the end of the school day. Then we can debate your NEW Top 10 list. ;)

Thank you and go back to pleasing your wife when you're done with this assignment. :D

Top 10 list- GM for a Day

Franny is definitely on the bubble. I say she doesn't make the cut!!! :D

Top 10 Servants on TV (according to Doughboys before he came to his senses):

10. Fran Drescher in the Nanny

I despised this show. Almost as much as her laugh.

9. Tony Danza in Who's the Boss

The show that brought us THE baseball Annie, Alyssa Milano.

8. Mr. Belvedere

They had Uecker right, they had Belvedere right.... they just didn't have a group of writers that could think outside of the box.

7. Florida on Maude

Florida was probably the best character on Maude. Between her, and looking at Adrienne Barbeau's bosom ( Q, PICTURE PUHLEESE!)the show was worth watching. Florida went on to become JJ'S (DY-NO-MITE) and Janet Jackson's mom on Good Times

6. Hazel

Most of you probably don't remember her, but she would do anything for Mr. B....Good stuff

5. Alice on the Brady Bunch

Oh that wacky Alice.

4 Bub on My Three Sons

Probably just a shade better looking than Alice.

3.Pepino on the Real McCoys

Really dating myself here. Going back to black and white tv. Pepino was the farmhand that was always there for the McCoy clan.

2. Uncle Charley on My Three Sons

Bub's relative. He spiced up the show with his naval lingo. Brash but caring.

1. Hop Sing in Bonanza

Anytime he got camera time or lines on Bonanza, it was GOLD.

Top 10 list- GM for a Day

I feel like I've been scolded by my teacher :D

I have learned a valuable lesson, never put a top 10 list up on the fly :D

Here is the revised list of Top 10 servants on tv

10. Mr. French on Family Affair- A little pompous, but his heart was always in the right place.

9. Flo on the Jeffersons- The perfect foil for George Jefferson.

8. Hazel- You know whats cool. None of these servants were attractive. Tv today, no matter the role, they have to be attractive. Its too bad.

7. Pepino on the Real McCoys- I moved him back. I watched a couple of episodes, waxing the nostalgic, and he just wasn't involved with the family the way the top 6 are.

6. Alice on the Brady Bunch- just plain kooky, but a real member of the family.

5. Benson- Wise cracking and all knowing. A great character.

4. Bub on My Three Sons- Rigid but caring

3. Uncle Charley- They kept his character even after Steve got married. Good decision.

2. Aunt Bee- Tough choice here. Aunt Bee was the consumate servant. Her pickles were bad, but her pies and roses were to die for. She was Andy's angel and Opie's mother figure. The friendship/rivalry with Clara was perfect. She could be 1A.

1. Hop Sing on Bonanza- Watching SpongeBob with the grandkids now, gives me the same belly laughs that I used to get when Hop Sing swore in chinese. Taking care of three grown men and the Ponderosa was a daunting job. The Cartwrights giving him jabs about how food wasn't ready were classic.

The episode with the bad guys that wanted to chop Hop Sing's hair off is great stuff.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Adrienne Barbeau didn't make the cut??? You mean you had her on your original list just so Q could post a picture of her in lingerie?? :D She must feel used now. ;)

I like your next list now. Glad you have learned a valuable lesson: Never put a Top 10 list up on the fly. But it sure was fun correcting your list. Back to following baseball injuries now. Man, last night was brutal for injuries, wasn't it?

The thought of Florida not making the top 10 list will be fleeting, the picture and thoughts of Adrienne Barbeau will last a long time. :D

Easy solution Dan - combined Dub and Uncle Charlie into one spot - same show/different characters - but only one spot - then you slide Florida back in. DO IT!!

Good thought, Ryan. But I can't do it.

They were both great characters and so different than each other.

If it were like Darrin Stevens, with the same character but different actor, I could, but not in this case.

By the way, the second Darrin signaled the end of Bewitched. He just wasn't as good as Darrin 1.
