If you're not including injured or 50-game suspended players, then at this point from players chosen in the first 5 rds...

1. Ortiz

2. Rollins

3. BJ Upton

4. Berkman

On the flip side (first 5rds):

1. Mauer

2. V Mart

3. Adrian Gonzalez

Richard, you forgot Joe Reyes.

And, if his "issues" keep him out for an extended period, which I think they will :( , Joe Votto can't be far down that list either. Great start, but if that's all he gives, not worth the spot.

I know he's not a 1st rounder but a lot of people invested heavily in Chris Davis, who is now hitting .199 with his 0-3 with 3 k's tonight!

I've got three from your list Eddie. Who has got more? ;)
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

too soon to throw the book at Rollins. I don't have him in this league, but have had him over the past 3 years in a CBS league. Although he'll likely never match his full year run of 2007 (which arguably should be expected going into draft day), he does play to those numbers (pro-rated of course) consistently from August through end of the year.

Although you'll go through the first half of the season frustrated, he makes up for it and puts up numbers comparable to his MVP season when it counts.

Aug/Sept/Oct (2006 & 2008 Season Avg)

Runs = 40

HR = 8

RBI = 33

SB = 19

BA = .300

Aug/Sept/Oct (2007 Season)

Runs = 48

HR = 10

RBI = 29

SB = 22

BA = .297

25 PERALTA NO POWER Unfortunately, I have 4 from this list. I have to hope that:

1. Jose Reyes-has quality 2nd half: .290+, 7 hrs, 30+ sbs, 30 rbis, 50 rs.

8. Aramis Ramirez--has quality 2nd half: .285, 15+hrs, 60 rbis, 60 rs.

19. Dan Uggla--continue on his power pace, but get avg up to.260

23. Jay Bruce--continue with power pace, and get avg up to about .280.

Other notable disappointments:

Chien Ming-Wang, hopefully he is about to turn the corner.

Derrek Lee, coming on the last couple of weeks, hopefully the neck injury heals.

Cameron Maybin, not his year, I jumped the gun on him too early.

I also have three from the list of 25 on my ugly main event team (Ortiz, Vlad, and Soto).

Another nominee for disappointing players: Chris Young, the outfielder.

I'm sure Alexei Ramirez owners are happy to see his name not on the list - b/c he surely towards the top of that list April & most of May during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Sometimes I think that you employ a photographer just to create these on the spot. Nice work.

YES Alexie Rameriz has come on as late so doesnt make the list and Rios is still on pace for 20 homers and 20 steals and feel the best is yet to come.
