"Wang" and "K's" historically mix as well as me and "Jenny Craig" (yes, ma'am, I would like another piece of apple pie but hold the ice cream this time because I am on a diet). In my experience, chasing wins (i.e. preferring one starting pitcher over another in the hopes getting more wins) hasn't worked. The only way I know to improve your CHANCE at wins is to post more starts.

I have been a bit out of touch (they are actually making me work), but Morrow is back in the minors at least for a while. They may leave him down there to stretch out his arm a bit (he made it through the sixth inning in only one of his six starts). He may get you K's, but he thrown walks in to go with 75% of his K's, meaning you take a hit in WHIP. ERA has not been good (he had even given up earned runs in five of his previous nine relief appearances), so increasing your K's also may increase your WHIP and ERA with Morrow. Net loss.

Bottom line is if you have no one better, hold. But if someone else has a better chance to produce, sell.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

A counterpoint-

Why would you hold Wang? He has proven nothing this year and there is no assurance that he is coming back. When he does come back he will need two or three rehabs yet again. Is he worth the wait?

Morrow, I hold. Between Morrow and the Mariners, they have done a fine job of screwing up his year. Through it all though, Morrow still lights up the guns at 96-98. Last year Morrow's whip was 1.21 while batters hit under .200 against him. Russel58, you won't find that kind of material on your free agent list. If Morrow can get himself right over a couple of minor league starts, he's got a better chance at helping you than most of the players at the Dump.

I tried it the first year, Em.

It doesen't give me the same feeling.

It feels to me like walking into a movie that has already been on for an hour.

Purists!!

A little bit of action beats no action. And for once I'm in a league without Quahogs, so maybe I have a chance. ;)

Is there a way, without manually figuring it out, what remaining FAAB $ the teama in your league have?

Would anyone risk starting Jamie Moyer against the Marlins this week? He has very good numbers against them for his career

"Stuff" that seems to be just cookie cut, worthless crap filler...

STOP WAISTING MY LIFE WITH "UPDATES" LIKE THIS!!!

(Now I can waste YOURS TOO!!! :D )

(From RotoTimes)

Jason Giambi, 1B, Oakland Athletics Wednesday 7/15, 4:52 PM CT

Jason Giambi is aiming to improve for the second half of the season, according to the Associated Press. Giambi holds a dismal .192 batting average at the All-Star break and he said, "Definitely I would have liked to start off better, there is no doubt about that. Hopefully it is coming around. The biggest thing is going out there and battling. I cannot preach to these young kids out here to keep battling if I am not out there battling with them. That is the biggest thing, keep going out there, keep swinging the bat."

Our View: The 38-year-old vet will have to work on staying healthy for the stretch run of the season as well, as his legs have been frequently sore and he suffered a bruised right elbow in last Saturday's game against the Rays.

WTF makes this news worthy?????????

At the same time, Roto Times wants to know what is so damn interesting about Joe Blanton.
