Okay, we're not trying to hold back any of the host hotels from you, but we're working our butts off to finalize some things and it's not easy when you have to work with these hotels. We're close to finalizing everything in Las Vegas, but there's an extra component there we're working on before announcing this.
In the Midwest, we'll likely host a live event March 19-20 in St. Louis, home of Fanball.com. We have a deal done with Pujols 5 Restaurant in Westport Plaza to host this. Charlie did 5 FFOC drafts at once there in March and we want to try this for the NFBC the first weekend of our live events. We can host an Auction Championship league and Double Plays on Friday if demand warrants it and the main event on Saturday. We were only going to do the two locations for this first weekend, but there seemed to be enough interest to kick this off in St. Louis.
We're working on some options in Chicago for the second weekend. I thought I had a nice option set up before a curveball came my way today. I'm doing my best at a past location, but the sales person there is tough to get a hold of. Hang tight. But does that sound okay for the Midwest??
On the East Coast, we are doing all we can to make the March 26-28 location special. It's tough in Manhattan, but we're doing our best. Let us keep hammering away there.
But I need help for the March 19-21 location. I spent a week calling every Long Island hotel with good space and each one that would work had a wedding for Saturday. It's great to go outside the city, but anything up our alley is booked for a wedding. Meadowlands area was tough, too. I had no luck there with the space we needed.
We do have a deal in front of us for Atlantic City, but I want to hear some feedback on that before I even take it to the second level. What's the thoughts on hosting this in Atlantic City the first weekend and Manhattan the second weekend? Is that too far south of NYC for folks?
I also looked at Dover Downs when the NFL parlay betting was allowed there. I just talked to the sales rep there and he said that place is packed every Sunday even though they are only allowed parlay bets. I thought it might work for us if they were allowed to take NCAA parlay bets, but he said right now they can only do NFL parlays. However, a decision on other sports could come down in December, so stay tuned.
What's the thoughts on that location? Right now they don't have craps or blackjack or much else, so I'm a bit disappointed. But it was worth checking out.
I need some help with Newark locations or even something north of NYC. I know folks say Foxwoods, but we were turned down by two other places like Foxwoods for reasons I'd rather not get into here. Is there anything else between Boston and New York? Or is that area between Baltimore, Philly, Washington D.C. better?
Again, we have some options already for March 19-21, but we're looking for your help. Post here and hopefully I can get this resolved shortly. Thanks all.
