Unfortunately, I can't "create" a poll...so a new topic is the way to go:

Yankees over Phillies in six games.

Alex Rodriguez MVP.

Phillies sweep 4-0 and pay back the Yanks for the 1950 World Series.

This is what I hope.

My head tells me the Yankees in 6.

Phillies in 7!!! Howard wins MVP. Lidge saves the final game, just to rub it in the faces of everyone who owned him this year!

This is a great Yankee team.

No matter how much management tried to screw it up by moving a 'born to relieve' pitcher as a starter. Now, they get little Joba benefit, but will still win the World Series.

The best part of the Series is that these two teams deserve to be there. Clearly the best teams of the playoffs.

Yankees in seven games.

Phillies in 5.

Rollins MVP.

ARod gets a new girlfriend.

Ann Margaret admits fondness for Dan Kenyon, but "loves him like a brother".
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

My head tells me the Yankees in 6. Except that the Yankees will have no idea they are getting paid back due to the fact that they've been to the post season 35 times since then and can't remember anything about who they played in 1950.

At any rate I hope the Phillies win. It will be tough for that bullpen to hold the fort against a Yankee onslaught, but otherwise they seem pretty evenly matched.

I am guessing that her admitting fondness for me, is as remote as Shandler admitting fondness for Walla Walla... :(

this could be the classic "Good pitching beats good hitting". if you look at the lineups side-by-side, who do you like?

C - posada/ruiz...i'll take ruiz for defense and throwing ability

1B - teixeira/howard...toss up here

2B - cano/utley...utley all the way

SS - jeter/rollins... the new Mr. October is tough, but i'll take rollins

3B - arod/feliz...Arod, no discussion necessary

LF - damon/ibanez...i like ibanez more, but i could go either way here because of damon's experience

CF - melky/victorino...the flying hawaiian, not even close

RF - swisher/werth...werth, one of the most underated players this year

forgetting DH...i have the offense 5-1-2 in the phillies favor. i like the experience of most of the yankees in postseason, but after all, the phillies are defending champs.

i give the pitching edge to the yankees, but i don't think they will dominate the pitching, unless every game comes down to Mariano. CC and Cliff should offset each other, burnett at home should take care of pedro but don't count pedro out, hamels can take care of pettitte IF the cole we all know shows up. if hughes and jaba show up, i give a HUGE edge to the yankees.

all-in-all, i have ZERO affiliation with either team, but i can't root for the "Evil Empire". i think it could be one of the best of recent times.

my prediction: NYY in 6.
