One Spot Left For The First Weekend Main Event
We currently have 10 spots left to fill up the first weekend's main events and we hope to do that in the next week. Right now we have only TWO SPOTS LEFT in Atlantic City to fill up a third full league and we will stop there with three full leagues. We are also close to filling up another auction league and Live Double Play in Atlantic City, so if you want to join us on the East Coast look at those events closely because we're close to filling up everything out there.
In St. Louis, we have one full league and three owners in a second league. We'll take signups here and then plan accordingly with the fourth league in Las Vegas. Right now we have three full leagues in Las Vegas at the Bellagio and four more owners. We have room for eight more owners in Las Vegas if anyone wants to join us out there for the first weekend of March Madness.
We're ecstatic to get 120 owners for that first weekend and right now 80+ are only doing that weekend's main event. I think we may have lost some good owners from the NFBC if we hadn't gone with both weekends. This should be a lot of fun and we are as ready to pick the draft spots for these leagues as you are. We should be able to do that at least 7-10 days before Draft Day. Stay tuned for details, but please get your KDS preferences set by at least Monday, March 8th.

Just a heads up that we got two more main event signups over the weekend for March 20th, leaving us with EIGHT OPEN SPOTS. We are going to fill two of them for sure in Atlantic City to fill out a third full league and then be done there, so we need six more between Las Vegas and St. Louis. We'll hook those two cities up if we have to as we could have similar numbers in each city. Jump in now if you're interested because we'll close the first weekend out at 120 teams -- eight full leagues -- and move on. Thanks all.
Oh, and we also have just ONE SPOT LEFT for the Friday, March 19th, 5 pm CT Live Double Play in St. Louis. C'mon, let's fill that one up and then get the 11 am DPL event filled. Thanks all.

Just a heads up that of the 110+ owners we have for the weekend, less than 30 are doing back-to-back main events. I know some folks were worried about the NFBC getting too many owners taking two teams, so I guess this is good news for those people. I actually expected more owners to take two teams, but again as we said originally we were not pushing for that. That's the main reason why we didn't offer an online main event option the first weekend because we wanted to focus on the live events.
I felt we might get 105 teams for this first weekend and I would have been happy with 90. Now it looks like 120 is the number, which is great news all around. Good luck all and let's have some fun during the first weekend of March Madness.

We still have some work to do there, but so far so good.

To Hell with 120 competing over the first weekend!
'E', I am issuing the challenge to you!
11 signups in 11 days for St Louis!
You are the Man there and have the pull.
Offer free Pujols balls (that didn't sound appetizing)
or a free tour of the Budweiser Plant
or a tour of Fanball with an autographed picture of 'E'
I know you can make this happen!
135 participants for the first weekend and no telephones...'E'lectric!

Okay, we moved a step closer to filling up this eighth full main event league on the first weekend, leaving us with SEVEN OPEN SPOTS. We need two more owners in Atlantic City to close that one out with three leagues and then we'll figure out Las Vegas and St. Louis. Let's keep these rolling. Good job all.

As I mentioned in the post above, we now have ONLY SIX SPOTS left for the first weekend's main event. Let's fill this one up and get a plan in place for KDS preferences. Damn, this is going to be fun and draft picks are coming soon.
We need at least two more teams in Atlantic City. Let's fill that one up and move on!! Thanks all.

At what point will the March 19 - 9:00 Auction be declared deceased? I do not want to auction via telephone. I have written to league-mates of other sources to bang the drum for the first weekend in Vegas.

Scott Martin There will NOT be a teleconference auction with multiple teams in each city. They just don't work and with a national auction championship, we need everyone under the same drafting/auctioning situations.
We have six owners now and one extra at 4 pm who isn't signed up for anything else. We'll reach out to him. There is one more interested. So we could be at 8 now. Let's see what this week brings and maybe we can still pull this off. But yes, if this doesn't work we need to reach out to all of the owners and let them decide if they want to do something else instead. But we're almost half full; now let's finish strong.

One Spot Left For The First Weekend Main Event
Okay, John Zaleski has grabbed a spot in St. Louis to fill up the eighth main event league that first weekend. That brings us to 120 total teams that first weekend. Remember that KDS deadline for these main event signups is Tuesday, March 9th at 1 pm ET.
We will keep the signup page open for that first weekend in Las Vegas and St. Louis, but realize that we'd need a full 15 more teams to make this work and that would include 6 more in Las Vegas and 9 more in St. Louis. Contact me at if you have any interest at all. Again, we'd have to fill that fourth league in Las Vegas by early next week to have any chance at adding a ninth league that weekend. Right now, we're good to go with 120.
Thanks all. What an awesome job that first weekend.

Good luck all and let's have some fun during the first weekend of March Madness. That's less than 30 to many!!
Rob, I realize that you and a couple of other owners chose not to play in the main event this year because of the two-weekend setup and I respect that. You have said that you don't think that it's fair for guys like Shawn Childs to get two chances to win $100,000. But we have 90+ people of the 120 who are only doing the first weekend and it's very possible that there is no way that they could have done the second weekend with us. We are at a record number because of the two-weekend concept, not despite it.
Again, I respect your position and almost 30 people out of 410+ have two main event teams. I wish you could have returned this year and enjoyed the race for the $100,000 grand prize, but I understand your position. Good luck in all your leagues this year and we'll miss you in the main event.

That's less than 30 to many!!
