I've been wanting to join this but a little concerned of the length of the draft.. I heard a 30 round league took over 6 hours the other night due to technical issues surrounding the new draft room. At that rate, this draft could take 9 hours - not cool.

I'm seriously considering this league though and would also like to know the payout schedule.

1) There are no technical issues with the new draft software. Yes, drafts are running longer, but most of that has to do with users learning the interface.

2) The 45-round draft will be held on Mock Draft Central.

Thanks!

Also considering this league, but have same questions as Jon, payouts and one additional one...my Dec, Jan DC league has not been entered on my team page as of yet! Can we get an estimate as to when?????

Are ALL the various teams being entered on to team pages the last week of March!!??? Can that be done???

I'm assuming the payouts will be $4000, $1500, $500...

I was thinking.. since this will be run on MDC, I wonder if all 15 teams were onboard, they should maybe start this draft as soon as it's full in a slow format and then complete at the regularly scheduled 10am EST time next weekend.

I figure that if the group could knock off 10-20 rounds prior to the actual draft date, it would make that morning go a little quicker and not take up so much of people's day. Also give everybody the option to take their time with the picks in the first 5-10 rounds or so. Just a thought..

We now have 9 owners for this $500 Draft Champions League, which is drafting the day before Opening Day. Awesome. Welcome aboard Jon and good luck in this league. This baby is definitely a go, so let's round up six more owners and get it done. Who wants to draft for 45 rounds and then just manage their rosters during the season to win $4,000? Let's fill this one up. Thanks all.

If it is 30 seconds per pick, I am in. If it is 60 or 90 per pick I am afraid this would be a 6-7 hr draft, and I have some other obligations later on Saturday.

I suggested that when this league fills, we fire up the draft in a slow format until we hit the designated draft time Saturday moning in which case we turn it into the standard pick time (60 seconds?)...

Didn't get a lot of feedback on that, but it would be one great way to knock out maybe 5, 10 or 15 rounds prior to coming in on draft day...

I know we are at 11 owners for this league now and possibly 12. I have to go through yesterday's signups and will then update this thread. But we are going forward with this league on MDC.com and should have a great group of owners again.

We've done this each year on the Saturday before Opening Day and guys know how long it can be and come very prepared. I believe one of these was held last week and it finished in under 5 hours because everyone was prepared and respectful of others. In the past, these took 5 1/2 hours or less because like I said the owners understood the dynamics of this league and was respectful of others. I trust this will be the case this year.

Don't shy away from this because of the time limit. This is a fun, fun format with a great prize and the other owners know what needs to be done on Saturday to satisfy their baseball fix and still keep their loving families happy. :D Come join us. You won't be disappointed.

Joe Joe, you'll want to go ahead and signup online as well by clicking on any of the open formats then selecting the $500 DC draft in the checkout screens... Also, you can set your KDS preferences once the team shows up on your home page via moving the balls around. The system, frankly, works pretty well... Just FYI

We need 3 or maybe 4 more players for this league! The sooner we fill, the sooner we know our draft positions...
