The Plan For Claiming Insurance On A Player

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Mar 30, 2010 6:45 am

Okay, let's address the process for claiming a player that you may have earned through FantasyInsurance.com. Here it goes:

1. Remember, only owners who paid for their entry via check or cash are eligible for the free insurance policy on one player. And this only pertains to those owners in the Classic, Super, Ultimate or Diamond Leagues.

2. On Thursday at the latest, those owners who are eligible for this insurance in the stated leagues above will have a roadblock on their team page once this is done and they will have to designate the player who they want insurance on at that time before they can do anything else. Only the players on their team that are eligible for insurance will appear, so most teams will only have 3-6 options. Pick the player you want insurance on you'll be done. You can't change the player once you've selected it and all of the data will go to FantasyInsurance.com.

3. Here are the eligible players for insurance:

Albert Pujols

Hanley Ramirez

Ryan Braun

Alex Rodriguez

Carl Crawford

Matt Kemp

Chase Utley

Tim Lincecum

Prince Fielder

Miguel Cabrera

Roy Halladay

Mark Teixeira

David Wright

Ryan Howard

Felix Hernandez

Evan Longoria

Joe Mauer

Jacoby Ellsbury

Troy Tulowitzki

Justin Upton

Zack Greinke

Ian Kinsler

CC Sabathia

Matt Holliday

Derek Jeter

Grady Sizemore

Adrian Gonzalez

Ichiro Suzuki

Robinson Cano

Brandon Phillips

Dan Haren

Dustin Pedroia

Jimmy Rollins

Joey Votto

Jayson Werth

Ryan Zimmerman

Pablo Sandoval

Jon Lester

Jason Bay

Justin Verlander

Adam Lind

Victor Martinez

Mark Reynolds

Kendry Morales

Nick Markakis

Brian McCann

Adam Wainwright

Kevin Youkilis

B.J. Upton

Chone Figgins

Justin Morneau

Chris Carpenter

Andre Ethier

Adam Jones

Johan Santana

Curtis Granderson

Yovani Gallardo

Mariano Rivera

Adam Dunn

Jonathan Broxton

Bobby Abreu

Carlos Lee

Javier Vazquez

Shane Victorino

Matt Cain

Aramis Ramirez

Josh Beckett

Billy Butler

Jonathan Papelbon

Manny Ramirez

Aaron Hill

Nelson Cruz

Francisco Rodriguez

Ben Zobrist

Shin-Soo Choo

4. Don't be scared off by the roadblock. Just make your choice and you can move on to the next step of setting your lineup, picking up free agents, etc.

Thanks all and good luck.

Greg - I paid by check but there isn't a "roadblock" on my team home page as of this AM to select a player to insure.

What do I need to do?

What do I need to do? Guys, I stated that this will be done by Thursday and you will see the roadblock before you can do anything else within that team. Please be patient and I promise you won't miss the roadblock. Thanks.

Wasn't trying to be a pain. There are only new threads being created every day about issues, time frames, fixes being put in place, "let us know if something seems wrong" requests, and this and that. If you're not on the Board a lot it's easy to miss something.

Thanks for the response.

I don't even know what a roadblock is - but I don't think I have one.

People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.

Where do we go to get a rate on insuring a player? I didn't pay by check but would like to insure someone.

[/QUOTE]Okay, I lied. The insurance has been available for several hours to everyone who paid by check or who received a free entry from last year. Right now 72 owners have made their insurance pick. If you don't see the insurance block and you paid by check, email Tom at [email protected] and we'll double-check our records to make sure this is right.

Again, everyone who we designated as paying for a Classic, Super, Ultimate or Diamond league by check has received the insurance blocker on their team page. If you don't see it and paid by check for any of these leagues, email Tom and we'll get it added to your team page. Thanks.

They passed out a sheet on who could be covered and it says:

"Additional coverage for the players listed above can purchased at:

www.fantasysportsinsurance.com

Just click on the baseball tab for additional coverage options and coverage limits."
