I still have faith things will work out, the software will improve, but I am anticipating lots of problems come Sunday. I hope all goes well, but Fanball needs to realize that they've thrown a lot at their customers this year and most of it has not gone well. Why should we expect things on Sunday to work when nothing else has without some major fixes? Broken promises?? Okay. I can't respond anymore. Sorry Jules. Sorry nothing has gone well.

Next caller please. The hotline is open.
Greg,

A couple of things I think I know:

1) You are on the verge of crossing a line here you will regret. Back down. I understand your frustration, but sparring with these folks does nothing.

2) Your time is spent better fixing what is broken than responding to people a few of which just want to argue.

3)I sincerely hope everything goes well Sunday night. My instincts say that you all will put out a functionable product that maybe takes a little longer or has a glitch or 2 that at the end of the day matters nothing to the integrity of this contest. Still people will bitch at you...

4) I would encourage you when this is over to call a few of your level headed customers and ask how they feel about the contest. I think if you make that open and honest attempt when things calm down you will learn a lot. I know there are things that I am very disappointed in that can be easily corrected or maybe just the input would slightly change the future course for the better. I have no interest in doing that in a public forum, with any type of agenda, and doing it while you are getting beaten up this badly and unfairly in my opinion.

The most important part of my post is this last sentence: Thanks for all of your hard work and let me know what I can do to help be a part of the solution and not part of the problem. There is a lot more right in this contest right now than wrong. If you drafted live last weekend and did not see that then you should probably not return IMO.

STOP. I started this stupid thread because I had a few cocktails and was buying into some of the stuff I read. I WAS WRONG. I'm signing up for another DP right now to show how much I believe.

Anyone reading this should do the same. This is a Great group and the ONLY place to be for Fantasy Baseball!!!! Since Joe admits that alcohol was involved and I believe his alcohol-related rant has cost us signups, I've taken the liberty of changing the name of this thread to "All Good on the Horizon." If you have a problem with that Joe, I'll change it back to what you had.

Joe admits that he read the doom and gloom posts and couldn't contain himself anymore. This to a guy who is already in two Supers and a main event, yet he's scared out of his wits. And then he puts another scary post up to scare even more people.

I'm sorry I'm taking it out on you Joe, but as we discussed last night, you wrote me the best PM about how much fun you had in the Super League on Sunday and how you would be in LV every year going forward and then two days later you tell the whole community that the NFBC world is coming down. So we're all torn now and I guess we just have to see if Fanball can get the job done or not. We'll see.
Ok, enough of this thread. Can we please take it down? It was not my intent to scare anyone or imply I'm scared out of my wits. It was simply an observation, without any details, that I made after reading for weeks some of the potential issues. Go back and read the original post, the worst thing about it was the title. I apologize for having wasted everyones time on this thread. PLEASE REMOVE.

THANKS.
Joe

I suppose none of this nonsense could have happened via phone/email/pm. Or maybe just give Greg a modicum of trust. What a gaggle of jackasses.

Sorry about that last post. I was wrong with the gaggle of jackasses bit. After doing some research, I have learned you guys are either a drove or herd of jackasses.

I just wanted to offer a heap of praise on the team. This is only my second year with the NFBC/NFFC, but I'm mightily impressed. While expectations should probably have been tapered down a bit, I don't blame them for the enthusiasm.

There are some issues with FAAB still - but its only Thursday, and its not like anyone is at a competitive advantage/disadvantage. Because everyone has the same template, same FAAB "look", same stats, etc, I have a lot of trouble crying about it until later.

Ready to rock,

David G.

We love ya Greg! Kenny, when you say "WE" does that mean the whole Sack family? Because last I saw LOVE wasn't the four-letter word you used with me.

If we're good, we're good. And if I did bad, I did bad. Thanks.

I'm just happy things appear to be "on track".

What's really kind of scary about this whole thread is that is was started by someone who already had too much to drink at 4 p.m. local time on a Wednesday afternoon!

Everyone must realize that I have nothing against Joe and I could have easily deleted this post the minute I saw it. But I didn't feel that was right. To me, I felt like a restaurant owner who had someone walk into his packed restaurant screaming "FIRE, FIRE!!" and everyone ran outside. I decided to bar the door before this person ruined my business.

Some folks feel I've been too combative with my replies. Again, I just think people are screaming FIRE before they even smell smoke. We're adding features to the software one by one just like we had planned.

Joe is a great, great guy and I know he will be in the NFBC for a long time. When he and his partner needed beer on Sunday for the 10 am Super League, I ran and personally got him two and then brought in the bucket of beer a short time later. He wrote me the nicest note on Sunday night about how much fun he had. He just got spooked last night and then he spooked others. That set me off.

We'll be fine. We just have to prove the naysayers wrong this weekend.

Maybe he could hire the hookers to draft and fill those empty spots!

I would not have signed up and paid for the main event, double play, 2 satellites, and slow drafts if I didn't have 100% confidence that everything would be just fine by Sunday night. Greg and the gang do one heck of a job each year getting us setup and ready for the fantasy baseball season. Keep the faith for those who are waivering and remember why you've spent some of your hard earned money on the NFBC.

Greg, by the way, the only awful thing about your job (besides the occasional bitching), which is one of the best jobs in the world, is that you can't even play in your own contests! No Greg Ambrosius in the main event!

Everything has been great so far, at least as much as we can tell. The one time I had to call Fanball with a question/issue, it was resolved promptly and, just as importantly, in a very friendly fashion.

I got a new Main Event owner to join this past year (drafted in AC) based on my prior years' experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to another friend based on this year's experience thus far.

I do wish we could hire that smart young guy in the sweater vest to draft our team, after seeing how well he did for Mr. Gannon.

I would agree with you Dan, but you forget all of the posts in past years about how STATS sucks, how we didn't enter rosters fast enough, how MDC.com sucks, how this and that. I just think the level of bitching has been raised to a new level this year and when it's done on the public forums where we try to sell upcoming leagues it makes me mad. Nobody has called me all week to ASK about how things are going. I even see people I call my friends acting like my 8-year-old. I'm beyond frustrated with my customer base and if you guys are beyond frustrated with me, so be it.

We haven't failed anyone YET. Bitch at me when I fail. I can take that. Don't bitch yet because we're not done.

------------------------------------------------

Hang in there Greg. The one issue I had, with not seeing my player roster, was immediately corrected by Geoff. Probably will be a few glitches AFTER Sunday but nothing that won't be able to be fixed.
