Picking Up Available Free Agents

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Apr 09, 2010 6:06 am

I'm getting a lot of emails from folks who want to pick up a free agent who they think should be in the player pool and isn't yet. All I can say is that if this player isn't part of the team's 25-man roster yet he can't be in the player pool. Until that officially happens with MLB, we can't add him to the player pool, even if it's reported on web sites that he will be added soon.

Remember that our free agent player pool locks at 7 am ET on Sunday. So if you don't see that player in the free agent pool on Sunday morning, he won't be added this week even if he plays that day. He would then be available in your league's free agent pool next week. Sound good?

Good luck all.

Greg - couple things:

1) Recent player cuts are showing up at the bottom of the queue even when sorting alphabetically.

2) The Hitter queue has a combo of hitters and the recently dropped pitchers. Example - John Maine is found near the bottom of the hitter queue. I am not arguing that using him as a hitter could be a good option for him....
