There was one other callup that was not included in FAAB this week that seems like he should have been in the pool before 7 am ET today. Both will be in next week, but I'm checking on this as all members of the 25-man roster are added each morning to our player pool. We will not be adding anyone at this point today, but I'll see what happened here.

How is this possible? They are ruining this high stakes league. There is no excuse. At west point they teach their officers yes, no, no excuse. Fanball needs better management.

Greg,

I don't understand your explanation and cant seem to understand why he cant be added now.

I want to make a bid on him tonight, let's say during this upcoming week he is named the new closer, are you telling me that due to a "glitch" in the system i get screwed? That is completely unacceptable when paying $1450 for a team. Im sorry, but something is wrong if you have a system in place that prevents the league rules from being enforced.

THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!

so you want Greg to escalate the problem, by adding someone after the deadline. We do not need another 10 page rant from everyone as to how it is unfair to those that did their transactions in the am and left for the day

common theme from day one.

greg, tom, geoff---> good, very good

fanball management and programming group ---> bad, very bad

unfortunatley there is only so much greg, tom and geoff can do. fanball management and programming group are causing this ship to take on water. how much time is left before it goes under? simply unbelievable. and to think, before fanball took over, the nfbc was the best high stakes event in all of fantasyland

And by the way, to me this isn't a fanball issue.

Im sick of hearing how screwed up fanball is, some of the blame should come on the hands of the nfbc management team. You know the web page sucks, you need to ensure all area's are covered. Hire more people or spend more time to ensure no more F ups occur.

I have been pretty silent on all of this, but this outraged dribble is too much. Yes there are some problems, but too many are making too much of it (Kam Mickolio for goodness sakes). If you have a problem, send them an email. It has been proven that they read them.

Go to your room, have a camomile tea, and wring out your hanky. We all still have a level playing field and we all are experiencing the same problems.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

wayne, Kam not being there is something i would expect from a free yahoo league, not a $1,300 league.

I am willing to be that somewhere a group of people who know about all this are planning to start a new high stakes fantasy league for 2011.

Greg, Can you please let me know what additional rules will not be followed this year so I can plan accordingly?

Kam was called up to the bigs on Thursday, why wasn't he added to the FA pool?

Any player who is not on a team roster within your league and is on a major league roster or once was on an NFBC team in your league is considered a free agent for that league. Even players on the MLB disabled list are eligible to be picked up during the FAAB bidding process. The player pool is deemed closed of new free agents each Sunday at 7 AM ET before the FAAB bidding deadline. Participants should note that MLB unsigned veteran free agents at the time of Draft Day are eligible to be picked up or bid on in the NFBC Classic.

I was trying to find Kam in my leagues earlier in the week as well, even before Jimmy J blew the save opp. He could very well be next in line for the closing gig so I can understand why people are complaining. As of right now, a small percentage of prospective owners were counting on picking up Kam this week anticipating that he might steal the temporary closing gig from ole Jimmy boy. $1, $2, maybe $5 bids... little risk, big reward.. But if those 'savvy' owners are not allowed to pick up Kam this week, and he goes on to save a couple games this next week... Well I think it is safe to say that Mr. Mickolio will cost a little more money.. With that being said, you could always pick up uehara and pray for a miracle.

I wanted to put a bid on Mickolio this week.

JJ blows a couple more saves this week and a guy who would cost $1 this week will cost $100+ next week.

Sorry Greg but this software is making your job a lot harder than it should be. This guy might turn out to be a nobody, but if a top flight prospect got called up and same thing happened I'm sure most wouldn't be taking this so lightly. IMO

I had no idea who this guy was until this thread.

It is not the same to say we all will have a chance to get him next week.

This not only was forwarded and requested immediately to IT, but I was assured the system was set up for every callup going forward. There is no excuse for us not having EVERY callup in the system when STATS runs new player lists every morning between 3 and 5 am.

I can keep taking the personal insults, the bullets and even the wide eyes from you folks, but at the end of the day I'm the front end guy for this contest. I don't prevent any players from not being in the pool or prevent emails about these things from going to the right people.

Keep 'em coming at me, but I expect every player in the pool as well. But at this point I can't add him or anyone else who isn't in there. The rules state they must be in there at 7 am on Sunday or they go in the next week.

I mean seriously who goes AWAL (hel! half of this contest knows where Ryan was) the first week of the season and then allows his most loyal, and best employee to sit here and just get nuked day after day after day.

Gekko, this was a tricky situation for me because I just spent a ton of money on Jim Johnson and I've been checking for Kam for a few days and noticed he wasn't there. Luckily its all moot now that Johnson got the two inning save but I was afraid if I secretly asked for him to be on the list, trying to not have it be noticed too blatantly, that it would backfire on me in some way. Karma-esque. So I just waited.

It appears that he's not the guy yet anyway. Let's see what happens in a week.

-Craig johnson pitched the 8th. Kam was coming in the 9th for the save. orioles scored a run making it a 4 inning game. johnson stayed on. Kam is the new closer
