On the topic, when will the "recent activation" list feature be active and recent?

Oh, I didn't know that the IT team was already notified. That is pretty lame that they did not react.

I personally emailed Greg about Mickilio on Wed. or Thursday. Why is he not on there? You guys act as if I sat on this or something. This not only was forwarded and requested immediately to IT, but I was assured the system was set up for every callup going forward. There is no excuse for us not having EVERY callup in the system when STATS runs new player lists every morning between 3 and 5 am.

I can keep taking the personal insults, the bullets and even the wide eyes from you folks, but at the end of the day I'm the front end guy for this contest. I don't prevent any players from not being in the pool or prevent emails about these things from going to the right people.

Keep 'em coming at me, but I expect every player in the pool as well. But at this point I can't add him or anyone else who isn't in there. The rules state they must be in there at 7 am on Sunday or they go in the next week.
Leave GA alone. He already might have the worst boss in all of America. He does not need this junk too.

I mean seriously who goes AWAL (hel! half of this contest knows where Ryan was) the first week of the season and then allows his most loyal, and best employee to sit here and just get nuked day after day after day.
I agree Kent. It's sad from where I am to see Greg take the slings and arrows like this. Can he take it? I guess he has to to some degree but it has to be wearing him down. I've zipped my lip for 3 weeks but it's become apparent to me that Ryan Houston has not delivered and is responsible for putting out a sloppy, sloppy product. I actually like the site and look forward to its completion. However the constant parade of oversights and miscues are really adding up and truly reflect poorly on the man in charge of this segment of Fanball

Actually Mark, I was watching the game and no one was warming in the bullpen at all at any point after Johnson, and the Orioles did't score until two outs in the 8th. Jim was going two innings. Period. The Orioles announcer said as such.

The FAAB is easy to use at this point, but I agree that the attention to detail is lacking.

I'm not ripping into you about that Greg, just stating I sent you that email about Mick. Now, if they failed to get it in and you did what you say...then that really sucks for you and the rest of us.

There is no excuse for them not to put Mick in.

I'm still wondering why they have yet to fix (any update on where all this is at?) the other parts of the bidding system such as:

1)once you save your list, you can not add conditional bids again

2)cant view players in pool for that current weeks stats only - as it was last year and every year before that

I use the bids as my watch list during the week and just edit it as the week goes on. I assume others do the same.

And I was obviously trying to bid on Kam for sure based on what I saw with Johnson so far. So now if he does end up closing...until Gonzalez comes back and maybe even after he does...then I'm sure others will know more about this guy once he gets a save (if he does). Just simply screwed up! Especially, when my team is hurting for saves bad (still have 0)!

I'm tired of making excuses for everyone. The player should be there....no ifs, ands, or buts. B.S.

You should have CC'd the whole fanball team if you wanted the change so badly. That's what I would have done.
Perhaps, I overlooked something. I suppose we don't have to hit any add conditional button then? The players just appear with conditional next to there name?

-Craig Should not have to CC anybody! Should not have had to even email Greg about it! Player should be there automatically! But after the email atleast 2-3 days ago minimum...I surely did not think the player would not have been added? Again, somewhere something went wrong; I cant point the finger at anyone because I don't have the facts.

Unfortunately, sometimes IT teams have to react to whoever yells the loudest. It was probably on their list of things to look into and they didn't get to it in time. Raising a huge ruckus over it beforehand would have bumped it up the list. But none of us wanted to mention his name so there was the dilemma.

GREG, maybe the IT guys need to reference this DAILY, in addition to relying on the STATS list.

After you bid on one player and hit save, you can click in the dollar amount of any player and the whole list of players will change to conditional.

Gekko,

You dont watch games remember...This is what happens when you dont watch them. No One was warming up regardless if Baltimore scored more runs or not. He was in there for a two inning save today.

Long before a save situation presented itself in the eighth inning of the Orioles' 8-3 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Sunday, manager Dave Trembley and pitching coach Rick Kranitz had decided that Jim Johnson was going to get the ball.

It didn't matter what the inning was, or what was the situation. If there were key outs to get after starter Brian Matusz departed, they wanted Johnson, who blew a save and took the loss a day earlier, to get them.

"I thought you had to go with the guy with the best stuff," Trembley said. "He needed to pitch. [ Ty] Wigginton hits a home run and gives him a little cushion, but if he's going to be the guy that pitches late in the game, you got to give it to him. All the mixing and matching, sometimes enough is enough with that. You have to go with what you think is the best arm. I thought he was the best arm today against their hitters."

Johnson rewarded Trembley and Kranitz's faith and got a bit of redemption by turning in two scoreless innings in which he allowed just one hit and struck out two.

Johnson, who inherited the closer role when Michael Gonzalez went to the disabled list, acknowledged that he was slightly surprised to get the call in the eighth inning and wondered at first who would get the ball in the ninth.

"Honestly, I started thinking about it and then I kind of wiped it from my mind," Johnson said. "I didn't want to be thinking too far ahead because you get in trouble doing stuff like that. So, basically, at that point in time, I was just trying to get every out one at a time. I know it sounds like an old cliche, but realistically, you have to go about it that way."

Asked how important it was that Trembley sent him right back to the mound a day after blowing a save, Johnson said, "Obviously, it's nice for the manager to have my back."

That's fine....so he's 1 for 2 with saves. This still does not make me think differently about Mickolio not being available this week when he should have.....period!

I don't like Johnson's chances long-term. IF Trembley does, well Trembley (2-11 ? on the year) might be out of a job soon anyway if the O's keep sucking like that. Not saying Johnson sucks...just think there are better options available.

The same IT problem that prevented them from being added to the pool last week is obviously still in place this morning. We are not adding these players manually to the list; this has to be automated better from this point forward so that we NEVER miss another callup. I talked with John's team last night about this and this will be fixed this week and won't happen again.

I did not realize before yesterday that any callups were not in the FAAB pool. I asked about Mickolio and a few others that I won't mention by name here and thought they were added each morning. I should have dug further. Blame me. These guys weren't in the FAAB pool last week, but we won't miss any more callups going forward. That's what I'm being told and that's what will happen.

The inning isn't over.

- K. Mickolio relieved J. Berken

- F. Gutierrez walked

- J. Lopez singled to left, F. Gutierrez to second

- K. Griffey Jr. popped out to shallow right

- M. Bradley struck out swinging

- C. Kotchman doubled to right, F. Gutierrez scored, J. Lopez to third

7th inning.. down 7-1... closer of the future..
