Eric Young picked up in FAAB????????

the real problem is how much time everyone is putting into this. i couldn't even find this thread as of 9 am chicago time because it was 8:30 chicago time when i looked at my leagues and saw eric young picked up in one of them. saturday and sunday in my satelite i looked under 2base, of, and typed his name in. no eric young. then he gets picked up. in my main league- still available. i am sure SOMEONE tried to pick him up there- how is it possible he was available in one league and not another if not drafted or if drafted in that league and then dropped- why did he not show up when i typed his name in?. i just saw another free agent available in one of my leagues- because now i start on MONDAY to prepare for next sundays free agent bidding. that player is clearly available on the list- but i tried 3 times to put him on my watch list and can't. so- the "programmers" ot "I.T." are working on this and that is why he won't come up? when aren't they? . lots and lots of hours to play this game right now.

Suggestion for next year:

Somehow EVERYONE seems to think that 'it was better in the old STATS days...' which of course is completely wrong. The pool of players had problems then as well.

I suggest for next year: SIMPLIFY the rules. Make anyone in either a 40 man roster, or ANY A, AA, AAA team elgible at all times.

The question is if you owned Young and he took a collar and you could cheat and bench him for a 1 start Buddy Biancalana would you do it if there was a problem running the waiver wire in time?

Thumbs up. Honestly, what's there to "grouse" about Dan? (Love that word by the way

). It is what it is.

This was a tough situation and a tough call. I don't believe either decision would have been a wrong one or a completely right one and there was no way everyone was going to be happy.

Of course I and the 14 others who had Young pulled off their roster would have preferred a different outcome. Still, I believe that Greg made a decision that he felt was in the best interest of the contest and I can respect that.

Now its time to move on and try to win this thing without EY....

PS....The one awkward thing for me is I did win him on several teams, so I can't even root that he sucks for the rest of the year!

I guess it's a good thing I got him last week, actually we will need to wait awhile to see if he was worth adding.

I really like that idea. If we're all competing against each other, all players should be available in all leagues.

I agree. Since we are competing against all leagues, all players should be available at the same time. So, I do my research during the spring. Then I expend one of my valuable draft picks in March to pick up “Mr. Rookie Stud in AA” that I know will block one of my reserve spots for months. I hold him on my roster for 11 weeks waiting to see if he gets called up and takes over the baseball world.

You; you don’t gamble a pick on draft day. You have full use of your reserve roster. But you are good and you keep a close eye on AA stats. You see that “Mr. Stud” is playing well and might get called up next week. Thanks to my draft pick, you pick him up in late May for $2.

No Thanks!

BTW, I don’t think I have ever drafted a minor leaguer and I don’t think I should benefit from someone else’s work.

With loud mouths like gekko on the boards, no player is a secret anymore!! It just levels the playing field for all players in all leagues. If u like a player enough u are still allowed to draft them. I have a couple of rookies on my teams now and are more than happy to hold onto them.

greg has commented on this many times. we have an individual league contest and a national contest. many reasons not to do that.
