Eric Young Week 4 Pickups Reversed

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Mon Apr 26, 2010 7:57 am

Sorry for the delayed response here, but it took a bit to get all of the data on the Eric Young snafu last night. Young did get added to the free agent pool yesterday afternoon in 16 leagues that he shouldn't have been in and thus those pickups were not allowed according to our rules. This was totally OUR FAULT and it's something that we have identified in our system and have corrected.

Eric Young was drafted in 140+ leagues and thus he was available in the vast majority of leagues yesterday. For any of those leagues that had him in their free agent pools yesterday and throughout the week, he was still able to be picked up. Those transactions went through without any complications.

I'm told that he was added in 16 leagues late yesterday with the majority of those being single entry pickups. In other words, there were no conditional bids for other players or pickups that would have affected other owners. There are 2-3 leagues where other bids were affected once EYJ was removed and we allowed conditional bids to run after Young and those did affect other owners in those leagues. We are addressing those owners now via email and/or phone to explain what happened.

We apologize for the miscue on free agency, but we must stay true to the rules and take Young out of the pool in the 16 leagues where he shouldn't have appeared. He will appear in FAAB this week in those 16 leagues and owners will all have a fair shot at him this week as the rules state. It's a pain for everyone who spent time and money on Young after he appeared in free agency on Sunday afternoon and we apologize. But the rules must be applied here and we must admit that the mistake was all on us.

I'll update more soon, but fortunately this is a manageable miscue and we'll contact all affected owners now. Thanks all.

Now I have the exact information:

17 leagues had the EY move reversed.

2 leagues had other owners affected by the EY move

8 owners just had the EY bid and money was reinstated

7 other owners had conditional bids that they won that didn't affect any other owners

We are contacting all owners now. We apologize for the miscue and do not want to see this happen again. It won't happen again.

Greg,

Was Eric Young Jr the only player added to the FAAB pool after 7am yesterday?

Thanks for addressing this situation as quickly as possible.

He's still on the team that picked him up in Chicago 1 this week.. Even though he wasn't drafted or picked up week 1

Hey Tom

I do not think Young was drafted in NY#1 but is still on that teams roster grid. If you get a chance maybe you can look into that.Thank You

Marty Marty, he was picked up on 4-4, cut on 4-18 and picked up legally this week. Once a player is in your league's free agent system he remains in there and Young was in the New York 1 free agent system all week after being cut last week by one of the teams in that league. The pickup is legal.

My main event team sure could use that kind of production. I have plenty of power with Konerko, Braun, Reynolds, and Andruw Jones bashing homers.
