Holy crapola Carlos Villanueva just went for $326 with a runner up bid of $123 in my league.

I felt bad for getting Vargas for 48 with a runner up of 1 and Carlos Silva for 24 and no runner up...but i feel better now..lol

Greg,

Lastings Milledge's pickup is not reflected in waiver history in Classic NY - League 5 even though he was picked up. Hopefully Glenn's team did not get him for free.

As a side note, Dotel was dropped in our league as well. Since I have not heard any news on Dotel and lately he's been anything but Hoffmanlike, barring any errors from the techies I'm thinking the owner is just saying "screw saves". Interesting.

high Octane, I went crazy on Villanueva, I am in third in that league trying to catch you, I am in desperate need of saves. I have missed out on other upcoming closers, and had a lot of money left. Took a gamble we will see what happens, good luck.

Same kind of thing with Gekko and his league - Waiver History shows Gekko picked up 2 guys, but Transaction History shows he dropped 3 guys, and picked up Lowell.

[/QUOTE]my gut feeling is hoffman returns for one last chance to reclaim and then will hold the job maybe even as soon as thsi week... but there have been many closers who weren't supposed to be any good that have gotten the job recently and done well ... ryan franklin, brian wilson once upon a time, and d aardsma last year. even a simon this year- who could be any worse- and doesn't he have 6 saves already?

Nope, paid for Milledge. It's Pujols I got for free. ;)
