One of the best pitchers left in the minors was called up this week...Madison Bumgarner. He struck out 11 in his final minor league game.

He struck out 5 and only walked 1 against the red hot Red Sox yesterday.

What was REALLY DAMN IMPRESSIVE was that once he got over his early jitters, his final 5 innings against the Red Sox were SUPERB:

ONE hit,

struck out three,

no walks,

and kept the ball on the ground with 7 ground outs.

Kid is gonna be good.

Good luck trying to acquire his services.

NO Ellsbury, Pedroia, Ortiz, and JD Drew pinch hit once.

I woulda been 50/50 to get a win and 5 Ks!
Is there a league out there where he is still available? Man....
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
Naw.....my main event staff doesn't need another overhyped thrower (Greinke, Hanson, Beckett)....

Who knew at the end of June, the ace of my staff would of been Carl Pavano!
