If you own Kevin Millwood, you're stupid. Sorry, no two ways around it. He pitches in a smaller ballpark. For the worst team in baseball. And has lost some inches off his fastball.
Baltimore has nowhere else to go and will run Millwood out there every five or six days for extended fielding practice for younger Oriole players.
How bad is Millwood?
Millwood has been a better National League pitcher this year, despite pitching in the American League. He has two victories over National League teams and has beaten American League teams....are you ready?....ZERO times this year!
Every time I hear the ice cream man drive by my home, I still want to run out and see what he's got.
I enjoy names of ballplayers. When meeting everyday folks, if they share the last name of a player, I'll ask if they're related.
A couple of years ago I met a lady named Diane Hornsby. I asked. She said yes. She quickly followed with how little it had meant to her, monetarily. I couldn't end the conversation soon enough.
Carl Crawford is a difference maker in real baseball. To me, a high-grade Judy in fantasy ball. I've never owned Crawford, most likely never will. Not with that Judy attitude of mine!
But, his value as a free agent this year is astronomical. It'll take Yankee or Red Sox money to sign him and I expect a war between those two clubs for his services. Both will say they are happy with Ellsbury and Gardner. Both will be lying like a rug.
