IDEA: NFBC $1000.00 SLOW DRAFT IN 2011

Post by Winston's Empire » Sun Oct 17, 2010 3:38 am

Well it would still be a slow draft with 12 hour time limit etc... like the $150 and $350 SLOW DRAFTS. All the rules would have to stay consistent so it will qualify with the new overall Slow Draft Championship that NFBC floated for this year. The draft will take 2 - 2 1/2 weeks still and will serve as the greatest time you can have in February for a fantasy baseball fan! Great guys and great time drafting!
That works for me. We got pretty good practice at 30 seconds between picks in AC this year

BTW, Mark. Congrats on our league and the great season you had overall!

That said, one of the highlights of the season for me is the live drafts. For all of us who have drafted live, you know there's nothing like it.....

...Any chance we can get a live DC league? Hey Rich,

It appears you would qualify for the "Jersey Boys" League. This would be a live, local draft perhaps...
I like the idea. but I'm actually trying to cut back! I'm finding I can't put in the time needed to compete with free agent lists, Friday moves, etc. Perhaps I'd be more interested in a Jersey Boy partnership.

This is one of the best parts about the Slow Draft format for those who haven't done it in the past. After you draft your 45 players, that is your team for the entire season. No Pickups, No Trades! You have 45 players to worry about and that makes it very fun and easy!

Well we are getting closer to Slow Draft season and I got an email this morning from Tom Kessenich saying if we can get the 15 guys to fill out a $1,000.00 Slow Draft, he was sure they could figure out a way to set it up for us!

Who wants in?

Who wants in? Yes, signups on the message board are the best way to go for this $1,000 Slow Draft league. What I'll do is create a prize pool based on $975 per team and $25 per team will go towards the Slow Draft Championship so that these owners are included in that contest as well. If you get to 15 teams, we'll create a new link on the Registration page and get everyone into the system. Heck, if this catches on we'll make this a part of the home page going forward.

I don't remember, are all three finishers earning the same amount or are prizes higher for first, then second, then third? I don't remember. Let me know and I'll set it up here. Thanks.

Thanks a lot Greg! Guys wanted the pay outs to be higher for first, then second, then third!

If you want to start the new sign up thread to help us get this rolling that would be awesome!

Please put me at the top of the list!

WINSTON'S EMPIRE - Max Ogden Neenah, WI If we use the same payout percentage for this as we do for other Pay Top 3 satellite leagues, then the payout would be something like this:

$1,000 Slow Draft League

1st = $7,700

2nd = $3,000

3rd = $1,000

That's 80 percent of the $975 from each team and then all owners are also part of the Slow Draft Championship that pays the top five overall finishers, including $3,500 for first place. Sound good?

Sounds great! The rest of the rules will be the same as the standard 50 Round Slow Draft...or as I call it "THE GREATEST FANTASY BASEBALL FORMAT IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD"!

Thanks Greg!

A few different guys have said they would like to join the $1000.00 SLOW DRAFT League, but don't want to draft until January at the earliest.

I just emailed with Greg and he said if we wanted to set Monday January 3rd as a ruff start date, that would be fine with him.

This will give us all time to compete in other slow drafts, get our holiday stuff done and start the mother of all slow drafts after the new year!

Thoughts?....New Signups??!!
