Slow draft 10 hour clock question

Post by Quahogs » Tue Feb 22, 2011 3:32 am

Greg, how is this supposed to work? Is it suspended overnight? What happens when time runs out, is the top player on the default list taken? I think MDC forced a pick on you and it kept everyone honest. If STATS 10hour limit just loops then the drafts will bog down.

It's a fine line between keeping them hopping and keeping it fair to overnighters. Not sure of your intentions. Thanks

Thanks It's been used already Steve and it grabs the top player from the default list if you don't have anyone in your que. If you have someone in your que it will grab that player. That being said, if you have players in your que and leave it on autopick it will pick your top player in a second.

Good luck all.

Slow draft 10 hour clock question

Nope, I emailed Joe and I'm hoping to hear from him. When I do I'll make his pick. I hope he doesn't time out again, but let me know if he does and I'll contact him to make sure we're on the same page for Rounds 3 and 4 so you guys don't have to wait so long again. Sorry. I'm ready to jump in when he tells me and he has all of the picks so far.

Right now he has 43 mins remaining on his second 10 hour time out.

It might not be his fault, I'm not blaming him. It just hurts to lose 20 hours out of the first 22 hours on one guy.

On the signup page here on the MB and on our league page on the site, it says his name is Brandon, not Joe.

Just want to make sure we are talking about the same owner

[/QUOTE]Update. He just made it to the draft room. He missed all of yesterday because he had twins born yesterday.

I'm glad I wasn't blaming him.

Slow draft 10 hour clock question

What about overnight hours? Does the clock stop between say 12am - 7am? Overnight hours should not count against your 10 hour window.

Some folks work at night and sleep during the day. The clock works for them as well as those with normal hours. If we enter a slow draft, we have a responsibility to pick in a good time frame.

We know when our pick is getting close. If it's at night, we check in the morning.

Not a big deal.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Tons of these problems will be solved by one simple solution. The software allowing the players to autopick ONE ROUND ONLY. Greg said this would be a priority for next year. It will help a lot if people use it correctly.
