AMAZING: 390 Main Event Signups, Room For More?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sat Feb 26, 2011 5:28 am

It's been such a crazy week of work that I hadn't really counted up the entries for the Main Event until now and I still find it hard to believe that we have 298 teams on the list right now. With a goal of 390 teams, that means we have LESS THAN 100 GUARANTEED SPOTS LEFT!!!

That is just amazing when you consider that for two months most folks weren't sure if the NFBC would be returning or not and for 15 days during February our signup page was shut off. Now since STATS got the signup page live on Wednesday, we've seen the registrations roll in so much it's really hard for Tom and I to keep up. Each time a signup comes in it beeps on my email and between my computer and Tom's it sounds like a video game gallery here at times. The signups are literally coming in a couple per minute at times. It's crazy.

And when they come in for the Main Event then I really get happy!! Some people weren't sure if we'd reach our goal this year, but I always felt we would and maybe even surpass it. We have sold out the Main Event each of the last six seasons and last year we had 435 teams. I created the prize pool based on fewer teams because last year wasn't a perfect season and because I knew the economy would still be rough. But it's amazing to see so many of our great customers coming back, while many new ones are joining for the first time.

Well, if you plan on playing don't wait too long. We already have 119 signups for the first weekend, meaning we have ONE GUARANTEED SPOT THERE!! Obviously that draft is three weeks away from today, so let's keep it rolling and shoot for 135 teams then and perfect numbers in each city. We can do it. And the second weekend will definitely bring in a bunch more between now and our signup deadline of mid March. So let's keep rolling all.

Who wants to be signup No. 300?? :D We're at 298 and counting. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU!! Wow, what an amazing comeback. I vote NFBC owners for Comeback Players of the Year!! :D You've done it.

And kudos to STATS. We'd be dead without you. Instead, we're alive and well. Tom and I are part of a great, great team and I see very good things ahead. Enjoy all and keep my computer and Blackberry buzzing.

What the heck, let's have fun with this thread: 299 NOW!!!

John Hogan became our 120th owner for the first weekend as our NFBC Charter Member signed up for the Atlantic City Main Event and the Auction Championship. I DEFINITELY want one auction league in AC and I won't quit until we fill that, so let's get it done. Thanks John and welcome back for the AC Doubleheader.

We now have 300 TEAMS IN THE MAIN EVENT!! WOW!!

Christopher Talbott of Hoboken, New Jersey -- the birthplace of baseball no less and the home to our first NFBC Champion Artie Rastelli -- is our 300th team owner for the NFBC Main Event. Congrats Chris and tell Tom you get another beer ticket at Citi Field for this!!! :D He buys the second round too. ;)

Okay, that leaves 90 Main Event teams for 2011. We are further along than I ever imagined. Great job all and don't delay if you want to play in 2011. We are going to sell out, I'm confident of that. Now let's fill up perfectly in each city for that second weekend. I know we can do it or at least close to it. Keep it going all and thanks to the first 300 teams.

We're down to our final 80 spots as we are now at 310 signups for the Main Event. What a run it's been this weekend. We love you guys.

Can we surpass 390 teams? It's certainly possible. :D But let's get these next 80 teams and go from there.

So keep those signups coming.

Now less than 80 Guaranteed Spots left in the Main Event. And while Tom is right that we love the guys, we also love the gals!! :D We can't exclude Sandi, Jules and the other lovely ladies who own teams in the NFBC. ;)

Keep 'em coming. A sellout is on the way again as folks seem pleased to have STATS back at the helm. We're happy too. Let's keep this momentum rolling and get draft spots to all of you well in advance of Draft Day.

We now have 21 full Main Event leagues for a total of 315 teams!! Not too shabby for Feb. 28th and after everything that has happened. That leaves us with 75 GUARANTEED SPOTS LEFT!!! Don't delay if you want to jump into the Main Event this year and compete for the $100,000 grand prize.

In the last 24 hours, the following NFBC vets have returned:

Scott Keikoan for both Main Events Online

Greg Morgan for the Main Event Online on March 19th

John Hogan in Atlantic City

Richie Sutton in Las Vegas on March 26th

Steve Janovici at Citi Field in New York

Drew Marsh in Las Vegas on March 19th

Keep 'em coming and we'll keep tracking the countdown. The sooner we can sell out the sooner we'll be able to announce draft picks this year. Thanks all and I know there are more signups to announce soon.

Wow, we've had a dozen Main Event signups in the last 24 hours, which is amazing at this point. We are now closing in on our 22nd full league overall with a goal of 26 full leagues and 390 teams. We're at 326 now. Keep it going all and let's sell this out soon!!!

The arrival of King of Queens for the Main Event in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 26th gives us 22 full leagues, 330 teams in all for the big dance. Nice start, but we're not done yet!! ;) Welcome back Glenn and best of luck in the hunt for this $100,000 grand prize.

So let's not stop there. Let's keep going until we get 60 more Main Event signups and then see where it takes us. Heck, we've had more than 60 Main Event signups in the last six days. I can do the math and I like that batting average. ;) Another run like that and I'll be celebrating in Phoenix this weekend. ;) Thanks all.

I like it when we jump by fives during each day. We're now above 335 thanks to the arrival of Jeff Schinker and Pat Sorge for the first weekend. Awesome all and let's keep 'em coming.

We're three signups away from a 23rd full Main Event league. WOW. What a great rush of signups in the last week. Thanks everyone.

Okay, let's keep it going. If we can get 150 teams for the first weekend -- which would be 30 above last year's total -- I'd say we have a chance to go beyond 390 teams overall. But let's get to that point first. Lock in your spots if you're going to come back. Don't wait too long because they might be gone. Thanks all and LET'S PLAY BALL!!

We're now at 345 teams for the Main Event, 23 full leagues. We filled up a second Main Event league in Chicago last night and I think we'll have a third league started shortly. We still have a lot of work to do, but we're well on the way to 390 teams. Thanks all and let's keep things rolling.

Greg,

Justed signed up for my 5th year in NFBC Main Event 3/26 in New York. It was touch and go for a while since it didn't look like the funds would be there this year but a recent financial windfall allowed me to jump back in.After back-to-back league titles in '08 and '09 I ran into Gekko in my league last year and finished just out of the money. I'm glad to have the chance to get back into the money again this year. Where can I find the New York Main Event signup list for 3/26? I can't seem to find it in the forum threads.

Astoria,NY Awesome Rich. You're signup No. 350 now. The signup list is the thread right above this one now. Check it out. Welcome back my friend and I'm glad you have a shot at a third league title in the last four years. Get it done now.

Keep 'em coming all. 350+ signups is a great place to be at this point in the off-season. I just saw my first baseball game of the season in Phoenix and it's great to see green grass, home runs and $8 beers again!! :D God Bless America!! :D

We have topped 360 signups for the Main Event which means there are fewer than 30 GUARANTEED spots in the event. The clock is ticking so if you want to take part NOW is the time to sign up and secure your spot. Head to nfbc.stats.com, register online and make sure you're not left in the clubhouse when everyone else will be living it up on the field this year.

If my math is correct, we currently have 367 signups for the NFBC's Main Event, leaving us with ONLY 23 GUARANTEED SPOTS LEFT!! Yikes, things picked up while I was off playing fantasy baseball in Phoenix! :D Don't delay folks if you want to get into the big dance either weekend.

We also have openings for the Live Double Play in each city. That's still the best bargain out there and I'm actually surprised that our overall numbers haven't been better for this event. For $525 you can win a $2,000 league prize and the $70,000 in overall prizes. Take a closer look at that format if you're looking for some more fun at the live events. Honestly, that's the deal of the event. Just ask Jaime Baird about it as he won $87,000 last year by winning his league title.

Let me know if you need anything and we'll fit you in. Thanks all.

WOW, what a busy day today. We now have 376 Main Event signups over the two weekends, which means we have 25 full leagues with a hope of one more!!! :D Wow, we are heading down the homestretch now. I know we have some work to do to make each city finish perfectly, but damn, we are looking good.

Please don't wait much longer. We are getting there. 376 is a great number at this point. Let's keep this going. Thanks so much all.

If my math is correct we're at 384 Main Event teams and need six more to reach our goal. That includes three more teams on the first weekend and three more teams on the second weekend. LET'S FILL THIS UP!!!!

Thanks all and I can't say thank you, thank you, thank you enough. Just WOW from all of us here. Thanks.
