So it can be a small prize listed with the flexibility to increase with entrants ?

If we start the Slow Drafts in November next year and roll through March continuously, WOW. I think the numbers could be HUGE.

Is Friday like Monday was last year,we can still change our lineups till 7pm, est for players who have not started a game as yet? Yes, the plan is to make Friday like Monday's. I'm pretty sure I have that in the rules. Remind me that first week so we get that right on the site.

I know most of us, as customers, were unhappy with Fanball's IT.

For all the frustrations we felt, I could only imagine being more magnified on your end.

I think the biggest difference Dan will be we're back to using a proven product to run the games. With Fanball, we had to build an entirely new system from scratch. With STATS, we're retooling the system that everyone used for five years before we were sold to Fanball. So I think from a customer confidence perspective that's huge in the fact that all of you who have played in our games know the system and have used it before.

Our tech guys are upgrading everything and they've done an outstanding job so far. All of our drafts are going extremely well and people are having a great time. It really says a lot about how good our tech guys are with STATS that they can put so much together on such a compressed time frame. They've basically had to do in days what normally could have been planned out over months. We're very fortunate to be working with such a great team and that's a huge reason why they were our first choice and by far the best choice we could have made.

Fortunately, they wanted us as much as we wanted them.

I'm sure there will be a re-learning curve as everyone gets familiar with STATS again but honestly I think it will be minor. And then we can focus on enhancing the product even more going forward.

I really can't say enough about the work our tech guys have done. We've thrown a lot at them and continue to throw a lot their way as we ramp up for the start of the season. Greg and I are really fortunate to be part of such a great company with quality people like this working with us.

I know I don't speak for all customers, but when it was announced that STATS was the new partner, as a customer, I felt relief.

They are the best in the business.

Last year at this time there were already customers that were unhappy with some of Fanball's failings..

Even when/if STATS has a failing, I have complete confidence it will be fixed quickly. That is what happened in the past.

I know years back, All State Insurance ran a successful ad campaign, it applies here, I feel like were in good hands with STATS.

A player coming up from the minors must appear in a game before available in the faab pool?

If there are nine auction leagues, what are the chances of a team not winning a league, but still winning the overall? I'm thinking you don't have to have balance to win a league, but you have to have balance to win the overall.

Greg and Tom,

Now that the NFBC has parted ways with Fanball, what is the likelihood of St. Louis not being a draft location for 2012 ? I'm very happy that we now have one full Main Event league and one full Live Double Play league in St. Louis. Because our home office was located there and we have staffers who live right there, it made economical sense to host drafts there. And again, we're happy to have full leagues there again and it should be a good, good time for everyone involved. Pujols 5 is a very nice setup and we have the entire conference room inside the restaurant for ourselves. With just one league being held there, it should be perfect.

That being said, I would think that next year we'll look this over closely and see if maybe there isn't a better option in the Midwest. Hey, Atlantic City isn't overwhelming us at this point so maybe St. Louis isn't so bad after all. But with new costs involved next year, maybe we'll move out of St. Louis. We'll see.
I know this chat is over, but just to expand on this question...

Any chance of having a live draft site in the south for 2012 and beyond? I know Orlando was a previous site. Any consideration for Atlanta or ... er... NASHVILLE!!! ??
I wish we had better numbers in the past in Florida because it's a no-brainer to host a draft there during spring training. Maybe we'll try again, we'll see. We have plenty of time to figure this out and get it right. Thanks for the input.
Dan, I really shouldn't have replied the way I did because it made it look like I was taking a shot at Fanball when I wasn't trying to. I hope everyone knows here that I truly respect John's IT team in St. Louis and I was convinced that this second season of NFBC at Fanball would have been very, very solid. I have no bad feelings of the people I worked with there even though we did have some bumps in the road last year.

Folks need to realize that we basically had to create the NFBC from scratch starting last October, which was a major task. It was a big task in itself, but that IT team also had other white-label contracts to fulfill and 50+ games to administer to. It's a very, very talented team there and I never had a problem with the guys down there. They worked hard for us, but I just think there wasn't enough time in the day to do everything on the plate and as we all know one mistake can affect everything, which it did. Our customers had a few other issues and I understand, but I just want everyone to know that there was never a lack of effort from those guys or any problem between us. And I had hoped for a solid second season together; heck, we all did.

As for new features you'll see on STATS, obviously the return of Live Standings within the league standings will be a welcome addition. I think that was a fun tool that all NFBC owners enjoyed the last two seasons with STATS. I don't know if we can add that to the overall standings as well, but it would be cool if we can. I would think that down the road more uses with cell phones will be advanced within our game.

I think we'll have more add-ons as we go, but that's a start. We're all good now and looking forward, so my fault if I inferred anything differently.

Greg,

In case you are still answering questions on this thread, one I have is will you guys ever implement a Points H2H contest for baseball? I know it's too late for this year, but maybe you can start small and host some $125 Points Satellites?
