Rule Changes For 2011

Post by Cotton1 » Wed Mar 23, 2011 1:12 am

At the risk of redundancy, Greg or Tom could you pls post only the rule changes from 2010 to 2011? would keep me from having to pick thru every rule just to find the differences. I think I get them, just want to be clear

thanks!

Did we get rid of 3RR in all events? I can't seem to find any mention of it in the rules now, can someone please confirm this is the case for the main and super also.

Found out the hard way last night in my Live DP draft.....sigh....

Wizard,

3rr has never been in baseball, only football. I was in your draft last night. They rolled the draft back for you to repick. You might say you learned the easy way. The roll back of picks is a great feature they have in the draft room. Accidents happen.

kamakazi it's my fault, should've been more diligent.

when i said the "hard way," i was actually thinking about how I would've set my KDS differently knowing it's not 3RR.

thanks! Rusty, really the only rules changes are:

1. 900 IP minimum instead of 700 IP in all contests

2. Friday set starting lineups will now be exactly the same as Monday's where you can lock in players in early games and still have until 7 pm ET to lock in players in late games.

3. The last two weeks of September we are allowing more flexibility with starting lineups on Fridays. I better find the text on that before doing this off the top of my head.

I think that's it.
Russell, this is right in all of the rules:

"During the last two weeks of the regular season only, we will allow owners to replace any pitchers in their starting lineup with reserves on Friday, just like hitters. But this applies ONLY to the last two weeks of the season."

Greg,

The season ends on a Wednesday this year. When will that "last 2 weeks of the Season" take affect?

thanks

thanks Correct. It will be in effect the last two weeks that a Friday move is involved. Obviously Week 27 doesn't have a Friday DL move opportunity, so it will be the two weeks before that.
What was the motivation behind this rule chang? I hope this doesnt move the contest towards full time friday pitcher moves next year. With the friday hitter moves you have already strayed a bit away from a true weekly roto game.

With the friday hitter moves you have already strayed a bit away from a true weekly roto game. The overwhelming number of pitchers who had their last start or last 2 starts just skipped out of the blue, would probably be one reason. During the last week of the season, I had an Online team that had 4 pitchers just shutdown with no prior news warning, costing me 5 starts that week. Had the lead in my league going into the last week, only to finish 3rd and out of the money -- not saying I would've won for sure, but with those 5 starts probably would've at least gotten 2nd place.
The sky isn't falling Cornhusker. I'll say it once again: THE NFBC WILL NEVER MOVE TO FULLTIME FRIDAY PITCHER MOVES!!! NEVER as long as I'm around. That's a TOTALLY different game and not one that is better for all players. Sorry you don't like the rule change, but the game changes and so do we.
