I'm surprised there is no backlash from Roy Oswald landing on the d.l.

Oswalt has had a balky back off and on for the last couple of years.

Two or three weeks ago, after a start, he said his back was acting up again. He was then given permission to go home because his home was threatened by tornadoes. He excavated his land for four days then came back with a sorer back and goes on the d.l.

I know other players have avoided long plane rides with a bad back.

I guess being a veteran with a huge contract has its privileges.

Are you ready?

The big week is almost here. The week of May 16-22 seperates some pretenders from the contenders. Every major league team plays everyday during that time period.

I like Robison Cano and Adrian Gonzalez to contend for the American League MVP. With the team that wins the division being the major factor between the two..

Cano has been Cano, hitting over .300 with eight homers and 21 rbi. Gonzalez has looked ugly at times. But, there he is hitting over .300 with 22 rbi. Once the warmer weather hits everywhere, his stats will look DiMaggian.

The first three players up for Chicago most days?

Starlin, Darwin, and Marlon

17 hitters have more strike outs than MarK Reynolds. Leading hitters who struck out often used to be players that were sluggers and noted for going for the fences. This year, here is the top five:

1. Austin Jackson 45

2. Ryan Raburn 41

3. Kelly Johnson 38

4. Dexter Fowler 38

5. Drew Stubbs 38

While other countries wonder why we celebrated the death of Bin Laden, we have moved on.

Now, that Bin Laden is no longer on the loose, the most burning question in America is....Why is Tim McCarver still on National tv?
