The news on Kendrys Morales was good at the time, he had just started taking batting practice and running the treadmill and the talk was he'd possibly be back by the end of April. Trumbo had gone the whole first week and a half without hitting his first homer  and the Angels had just started playing other players at first to give their glut of middle infielders more playing time. Wilson Betimet, one of my favorite pickups last year, was getting more playing time and I figured two months of Betimet (until Hosmer or Moustakis got called up) would be more productive than one month of Trumbo. I made the move for both of my Mains.
I should have known immediately that it was yet another idiotic move when Ken Magner, someone much smarter than me at this game of ours, overbid for Trumbo the next week to pick him up in both Mains. Of course, Trumbo almost immediately started flashing the power and the news from Kendrys almost immediately went south. Throw on top of that the early callup of Hosmer putting Betimet into even more of a timeshare and yes, you have the details of yet another horrible roster decision.
Despite the terrible drops, my teams are still clinging to spots of contention for the teams the moves were made. Still, how much better would those teams look right now with Ogando & Trumbo still on them.
For those looking for almost guaranteed great pickups this week, I excised both Tillman & Hughes from the balance of my teams last week. You can be sure last night's game was the start of Tillman's Cy Young run and that a new miracle cure will be discovered for Hughes shortening his recovery from 6 weeks to 6 days and adding 10mph to his fastball.
By the way, if anyone's wondering if Raul Ibanez has found the fountain of youth, nope. I dropped him from my DP two weeks ago. The turnaround was inevitable.

Last year I couldn't make a wrong decision in FAAB as Neil Walker, Alex Gonzales, Brandon Morrow, Jhoulyis Chacin, Brett Cecil, Koji Uhara, etc. etc. helped fuel my Main Event league championship. This year I guess is proving regression to the mean doesn't just apply to baseball players, but fantasy ones as well.
