Awesome idea, Rick. Wish I could join you & the others. But you really should consider hooking this rig up to your RV:

RT, Good News: Greinke pitches tomorrow afternoon, which means he's on pace to start Saturday night when we're there. Hopefully that's how it works out. I'll pull out my new Greinke jersey just for the occasion. ;) Enjoy the week on the way to Milwaukee.

RT,

Looks like I should be able to free myself up to catch the game in St. Louis on Thursday. I'll be in STL all week for work. I'll give you a call Tuesday to see where the RT Camper of Love will be parked!

RT, I got your message, but our phone has been wicky-wacky. We can receive calls but can't call out.

Pre 1900, I believe the answer is Ned Williamson (hope I got his name right), I remember reading about him a few years ago and about the short life that he had.

Post 1900, the chap's name was Gavvy Something. I don't remember the last name.

He hit home runs and led the league a lot before Ruth came around. The year that Ruth hit 29 and shattered his record, Gavvy Something finished second.

Pre 1900 and some post-1900 home run records did not mean much. It wasn't about power, as much as speed.

A lot of the home runs were inside the park. In fact , somebody, I can't remember his name (now I'll have to look it up) led baseball in home runs and didn't hit one out of the park.

It is why Frank Baker was nicknamed "Home Run" Baker, his home runs were out of the park smacks.

Cobb hated Ruth when he became an offensive force. He could see the game changing before his very eyes. But, even Cobb (also with the help of inside the park jobs) led the leagues in home runs a couple of times.

Ok, that's the best I can do without the help of looking it up.

Now, I have to look it up and see how I did

Just to let you know, I get these calls a lot.

I got another call yesterday asking if I knew the 'number' on the Louisville slugger' bat. And what it stood for.

I didn't know.

Apparently, it changes, although it was '125' for a lot of years and according to him, it indicates the density or mass of the wood in the bat.

Who knew?

Enjoy your trip, RT!

RT: Greinke is pitching tonight, so we get Marcum tomorrow. Brewers are scoring about a half run a game on the road, but hopefully we'll see a little offense on Saturday night. Bring the rain jacket for the tailgate party, but have no fear because Dennis knows how to cook brats and burgers in rain, snow, sleet or even sun with the best of them. And I know how to open beer cans in all kinds of weather, so we'll be good to go. :D See ya tomorrow in BrewTown.

So jealous - this sounds like a blast. Kenny and I will be at Citizens Bank enjoying a Tony Luke's Cheesesteak and some Chickie and Pete fries!

Enjoy the road trip. Greg, tell RT to stop whining, we know he'll be there at the end when it counts!

His RV is the real deal. We took good care of RT and his buddy Chris at Miller Park with a tailgate for the ages, a full house at Miller Park with the roof open, a Brewers' win and then a poolside drink at the guest hotel that night. It was great seeing him and all of us had a blast. My kids want to go back to Miller Park, so turn it around RT and let's go!! :D

The NFBC gods were on our side Saturday night. Rain was in the forecast for Saturday night and the minute I got in the car to start driving to Milwaukee it started to sprinkle. Then it turned into a full downpour most of the way down to Milwaukee. I thought for sure our tailgate was going to be rained out. Tom drove down too and expected the same thing. But right when we got to Milwaukee and hooked up with RT the rain stopped. Then by the time we got to Miller Park the sun came out. Then it got downright hot. The Brewers opened the roof, Denny cooked up the best brats and burgers and dogs money can buy and the party was on!! :D

TK, RT, GA, Denny and the whole family saw a Brewers' win and had a great, great time. IT doesn't get any better than that. RT loved the whole atmosphere so much he was up at 9 am on Sunday and headed to the ballpark for another day of sun and fun. It was a BEAUTIFUL Sunday in Milwaukee and I trust he had a great, great time during another Brewers' win. Great fun.

Drive safe RT. I might have to get me one of those RVs during my retirement years and see all of the ballparks that way. Looks like a great way to travel. See ya in Vegas for the NFFC drafts Sept. 9-10.
