Stats Are Being Re-Run This Morning

The KC/Balt game was not included in this morning's stats and standings, so they will be re-run this morning. Look for updated numbers shortly. Sorry about that.

What's up with this stuff? Any insight as to why some of these occurrences are happening? Thanks.

Joe, the Baltimore/Kansas City game wasn't included in yesterday's stats when they were run early morning and we have alerts to check everything and saw it immediately. Obviously the stats were being included in the Live Scoring from that game, so something happened or didn't happen when the final game stats were filed. It was corrected first thing on Friday.

There could have been a delay by those scoring the game on site, releasing the results to the home office.

Perhaps there was a play that the official scorer wanted to review.

Perhaps there were some complicated plays that took extra time to decipher and make sure accurately reflected what happened. The on-site stringers are like baseball stenographers, using a shorthand to code the plays which then get converted into the stats we all know and love. All the plays are checked for accuracy and sometimes, complicated plays take longer to check.

Or maybe perhaps it was as simple as someone in the home office inadvertently omitted included those stats in that official stream.

Remember, the live stats and the stats that fuel the standings are two distinct streams.
