Top 10 ranked shortstops- NFBC rankings-
1. Tulo
2. Reyes
3. Cabrtera
4. Rollins
5. Andrus
6. Castro
7. Bonifacio
8. Peralta
9. Aybar
10. Jeter
How'd you do?
Any shortstop named Ramirez was taken too early.
Best in season pickup was Bonifacio. He needed the Managerial change to give him the leadoff spot and the perma-green light.
St. Louis has finally admitted that Theriot cannot play shortstop.
But, they turned the reins over to another player that shouldn't man the position in Furcal.
It'll be interesting to see if Furcal and Jeter are still shortstops next year.
At other positions....
Billy Butler will be a utility-only player next year.
Hey, at least now he won't be downgraded for not having enough power at first base......
Daniel Murphy played more than 20 games at 1b, 2b, and 3b before getting hurt......
While Edwin Encarnacion and Mark Reynolds add 1b to their resume, Kevin Youkilis will be 3b only......
Michael Cuddyer needs three more games at 2b to qualify at 2b next year......
Howie Kendrick qualifies at 2b and OF, and needs five more games at 1b to qualify there.
Bonifacio is also the fourth highest rated 3b.
Ahead of Youkilis, Beltre, and ARod......
Bonifacio will qualify at 3b, ss, and the OF next year.......
How bad are the Mets 'sluggers' this year?
Carlos Beltran leads the team in rbi and probably still will by season's end....
There wasn't as much closer turnover as last year.
The best in season pickups were Madson, Santos, Salas, Melancon, and Guerra.
This years number two ranked 3b, Michael Young, will be 1b-3b eligible next year. If Kinsler gets hurt for a week, he could add 2b as well.
Three 2b's rank far ahead of the others.
Pedroia, Cano, and Kinsler.
They also rank 16, 18, and 19 overall.
Michael Young is the next ranked 2b, 55 overall........
Outfielders have the top four overall rankings.
Kemp, Granderson, Ellsbury, and Braun....
Last years top four outfielders?
CarGo, Bautista, Crawford, and Hamilton....
For as many 1b that were picked in the first round last year, only one made the top 10 overall and just barely.
Adrian Gonzalez ranks 10. He's followed by Cabrera, Votto, and Pujols who all rank from 12-15 overall. After that, no 1b are ranked higher than 25......
Where Pujols signs will have a definite impact at the top of the draft next year. A better lineup or ball park could keep him as the number one pick.
Otherwise, number one may be more spread next year...........
Verlander, Kershaw, and Sabathia rank above last years highest ranked pitcher, Roy Halladay.....

While Edwin Encarnacion and Mark Reynolds add 1b to their resume, Kevin Youkilis will be 3b only...... 3B is closer to the first aid section of Fenway.
After watching him play this week, I wish he'd go back on the DL.
Bonifacio--for years I have been waiting for him to get full time opportunities, and this year he finally got it. Hopefully he gets it again in 2012 because I have him for $1 in an NL Keeper!
Good Stuff, Dan. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were prepping for the Premature League.....

Thanks Emory, and yes I am!
It's like a ghost town on these Boards.
I thought I'd give some folks a reason to check in.
The Boards should start showing a pulse after the last round of football drafts and the first weekend of games are in the rear view mirror.
I'm having trouble locating a few e-mail addresses for the Pre-Mature League. I'm like a virgin in a whorehouse with a computer.
Full of wonder at the possibilities, but unsure of myself when it comes down to it..

On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

I'm having trouble locating a few e-mail addresses for the Pre-Mature League. I just sent you an email with everyone's address.
Feel free to wander around the brothel for awhile, though!
Bryan's got his rankings done, so we are all behind in our prep already!
So I heard some great Stuff from a recent Red Sox broadcast: Apparently the Brewers have followed the lead of Maddon and the Rays, who from time to time will have "themed" road trips. The Brewers went with a cowboy them on a recent trip (NESN even showed a picture of the entire squad decked out in cowboy attire) and each player created their own cowboy nickname.
Nyjer Morgan's might be one of the best cowboy names I've ever heard: Tony TwoStones.
I'm not sure why this seems so funny to me, but I just about blew my drink out of my nose when I heard it.
Happy Friday, everyone!

I check the board daily but the only threads I read are those started by Doughboy. This is a good week with three new ones.
Please, oh please, keep up the good work.

Aloha Dan, PMed you my new email address.
People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
