March Stuff

Here are some hit and misses' from the March wire.

Good for a few laughs....

'Alex Rodriguez hit his sixth home run today. He's hitting .422 in spring training. Combine that with the fact that ARod is in better shape than over the last few years, it seems likely he'll improve over his 2010 production'

'Justin Verlander pitched seven innings of one run ball vs. the Phillies.

Verlander owns a 0.96 E.R.A. for the spring and has a 23/3 k/bb.

He usually comes out of the gate slow in April, but it looks like he'll reverse that trend this season.'

'Despite his struggles, Mike Sciosia says that Scott Kazmir will begin the season in the Angels rotation'.

'Brandon Webb was pleased with his long tossing and hopes he won't miss too much of the season.'

'Mark Prior has a sparkling 1.17 E.R.A. during spring. If the Yankees have an injury in their bullpen, he is the likely answer.'

'Jim Tracy has a pleasant problem at 2b with Jonathon Herrera and Jose Lopez'

'Adam Dunn broke out of a pre-season slump with a homer and double. Dunn usually has slow springs.'

'Daric Barton is having a nice spring, hitting .361 with a couple of homers.'

'Melky Cabrera hit a three run homer and continues his white-hot spring training pace.

We're guessing the momentum doesn't carry over into the regular season and that Lorenzo Cain will take his job at some point'

'Kendry Morales says the throbbing in his foot has subsided'

'David Aardsma will pitch from a mound next week'

'Royals Manager Ned Yost indicated that Kila Ka'Aihue would get more playing time at first base than Billy Butler'

'Pedro Feliz is an outside option at third base for the Marlins. With in-house cadidates Donnie Murphy, Wes Helms, Greg Dobbs, and Emilio Bonifacio, this a fantasy position to avoid'.

'Ian Stewart finished the day one for three. He's been held back because of a minor knee injury. The Rockies aren't worried about his opening day status and neither are we.

He should be selected, with confidence, in all fantasy leagues.'

'Blue Jays Manager John Farrell says he envisions Rajai Davis as his every day leadoff man'

'Luis Castillo believed he had all day to make it to Phillies camp. Look for him to make his Phillies debut tomorrow.'

And my favorite....

'Manny Ramirez hit his second home run of the early spring and is hitting .333

He shouldn't be counted on to be a linchpin for your team, but he figures to be plenty valuable.'

And now we receive the news that Manny is 'hitting' again.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
