Lindy Hinkelman To Be Inducted Into NFBC Hall Of Fame

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Sep 30, 2011 5:41 am

I'm not even going to wait to announce it. It's inevitable and I HAVE to believe everyone agrees with me here:

Lindy Hinkelman Will Be Inducted Into the NFBC's Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 31st in Las Vegas!!! CONGRATS LINDY!!

Lindy has more than earned this right to join Stephen Jupinka and Shawn Childs as the only players in the NFBC's Hall of Fame. He has become the only two-time overall champion of the NFBC's Main Event -- and the only person in the industry's history of high-stakes events to win two national titles. His record says it all and I'll update it here for all to see:

LINDY HINKELMAN

NFBC FACTS

Entered: 33 leagues since 2005

Won: 6 league titles (18.2%)

2nd: 6 times (36.4% in Top 2)

3rd: 5 (51.5% in money; one was OC)

4th: 1

5th: 4

6th: 1

7th: 1 (24 of 33 or 72.7% in top half)

Other finishes: 8th (2), 9th (2), 10th, 13th, 14th (2).

Main Events: 7

1st: 2 (won overall titles in 2009 and 2011)

2nd: 1

3rd: 1 (cashed 57.1%)

5th: 2

14th: 1

Lindy had the perfect season in 2009, winning the overall titles in the Main Event and the Online Championship to earn a $75,000 cash bonus. It's now called "The Lindy." He remains our NFBC Money Leader thanks to that $241,300 season. He has been competing in the Main Event since 2005 and has finished 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 5th, 1st, 14th and 1st.

Lindy won four titles in 2011 out of seven events. He won Las Vegas League 4 with 138 points (92%) and won the overall title with 3,407.0 points (87.4%). He won Las Vegas Auction League March 25th 9 am with 120.5 points and finished 2nd overall in the Auction Championship. He won the March 8th Online Double Play with 85.5 points and tied for first place in the March 25th 4 pm Live Double Play with 82 points. He finished third in the Las Vegas March 27th Live Double Play with 76.5 points, finished 5th in the Ultimate League with 85.5 points and finished 9th in the $150 Slow Draft League #13 with 74 points. Wow, that's one helluva year Lindy.

Lindy spent $8,750 in entry fees this year and won $116,775. He is now our Career Money Leader with earnings of $360,075.

Lindy now has two Main Event league titles, two Main Event overall titles, an Auction League title, a Live Double Play title (12-team format), three second place finishes in the Ultimate Auction League, and a second and a third place finish in the $1,250 NL Auction League. We didn't need much of a formal vote to vote Lindy into the NFBC Hall of Fame with that resume.

Still, here is Lindy's resume in the NFBC:

2005: 5th Main Event, 2nd $1250 NL Auction, 2nd Ultimate Auction

2006: 3rd Main Event, 2nd Ultimate Auction, 3rd $1250 NL Auction, 8th $1250 AL Auction

2007: 2nd Main Event, 6th $1250 NL, 7th Ultimate Auction, 3rd Sack Sat

2008: 5th Main Event, 14th Ultimate Auction, 6th $1300 NL Auction, 8th $125 Sat, 5th $125 Sat

2009: 1st Main Event, 1st Online Championship, 2nd Ultimate Auction, 4th $1300 NL Auction

2010: 14th Main Event, 3rd Online Championship, 2nd Live Double Play, 10th Live Double Play, 9th Auction Championship, 13th Ultimate Auction

2011: 1st Main Event, 1st Overall in the NFBC Main Event, 1st Las Vegas Auction League, 1st Las Vegas Live Double Play, 1st Online Championship, 3rd Live Double Play, 5th Ultimate Auction League, 9th $150 Slow Draft

CONGRATS LINDY!! Be ready for another speech in Las Vegas at a very, very prestigious and beautiful hotel. We are making the accommodations now. You start writing the speech and start targeting those key players for 2012. Draft Day follows your induction speech. :D

Well deserved! A great choice and a name that can cause no debate. He has always been a HOF'AMER ( hog farmer ) in my book! Now he

gets the official title. Knowing him as I do, this will mean the world to Lindy.

Easy call....right call, too. Congrats Lindy!

Well deserved and as was stated earlier, overdue. If Lindy wasn't in the HOF, it would make the NFBC look bad, not Lindy. Congrats to both Lindy and the NFBC for doing the right thing for a more than deserving Hall of Famer.
