It's funny, we're 29 picks into a draft with a player pool ranging 71 years and Srebro is already declaring doom and gloom shortages. I, for one, am now panicking. Thanks for the warning, now I'll go download some pitching stats.
Other than missing this pitching run, any other feedback or a list of possible strategies I should consider would be appreciated.
Thanks.

That is some funny stuff!

while we wait, a classic....
So, you guys like to tell jokes, huh? Gigglin' and laughin' like a bunch of young broads sittin' in a schoolyard. Well, let me tell a joke. Five guys, sittin' in a bullpen, in San Quentin. All wondering how the **** they got there. What should we have done, what didn't we do, who's fault is it, is it my fault, your fault, his fault, all that bullshit. Then one of them says, hey. Wait a minute. When we were planning this caper, all we did was sit around tellin' fuckin' jokes! Get the message? Boys, I don't mean to holler at ya. When this caper's over - and I'm sure it'll be a successful one - we'll get down to the Hawaiian Islands, hell, I'll roll and laugh with all of ya. You'll find me a different character down there. Right now, it's a matter of business.

While we wait-----
Check out the designs on that bullpen cart!!
Know any of those HOT rookies? Aside from the guy in the middle? Didn't think so.
Along with Johnny Bench--
Mike Torrez, Cardinals-- a pretty fair pitcher, won 185 games but didn't make the majors to stay until 1972 and pitched just 19 innings in 1968.
Alan Foster, Dodgers-- stuck around mlb for 10 years with 5 different teams. Pitched 15 innings in 1968, the word "mediocre" comes to mind.
Cisco Carlos, White Sox-- After a promising trial in 1967, things went bad for Cisco in 1968. A 4-14 record and bloated (for 1968) ERA of 3.90 was just the beginning of a rapid decline. He was gone by 1970.
Don Pepper, Tigers-- Yeah, like this guy was going to beat out Norm Cash. Had 3 AB in 1966, but after a dismal season in the minors in 1968, he gave up baseball and probably went back to his families turkey farm.
While discussing dozens of up and coming players, the SI article does not even mention the eventual 1968 AL rookie of the year- Stan Bahnsen of the Yankees, OR the NL runner-up to Bench, the METS Jerry Koosman.

Here's one for GLENN----
"Slugger" Ron Swoboda? Seriously? He must have been slugging guys in the clubhouse, because even in 1968 I can't see 11 homers qualifying somebody to be a "slugger" of baseballs.

SI lost all credibility with that issue. How the hell do you not make Koosman your centerpiece of 1968 rookies??? That cart didn't help their credibility either. Here's one to make it up to the great Koos.......
Now back to business.....anyone put an APB out for Mathis?

I don't think they've been worried about credibility for a long time.......

We may be held here for the night at this point. Either way we have had a very decent pace to this draft so far.
