B1tching and moaning

Rather than having the team named "Mark Prior's Elbow," I should have named it "Flying high into Period 8 with KRod, Bedard, Miles, Koskie, and Prior leading the way." OK, Koskie got hurt at end of Period 7, still a painful last few days. Quahogs, if you're listening out there, go run with this thing. If Prior's done, stick a fork in this team. Liking that the two of us have been in the top 10 in the overall and handing off first in NY 3 for a bit, think MPE may need to overhaul some things. This week will test my theory that it's not the injuries that generally kill you in mixed leagues, it's guys who stay in your lineup and radically underperform. Scanning the wire, in a 15 team league where you can't trade, that may not be entirely accurate. Damn. Please someone type a response that Prior owners knew they were taking a risk with the elbow. Should have seen that screaming line drive coming. That's going to make this whole thing better. Beyond geekball, hope Prior's ok. Seems like one of the good guys.

Hughes - sorry for not buying your swan song yet. You have a lot of goodwill built into those pitching #'s, all you need is a good roll of duct tape and you'll be ok. It'll come down to whoever's teams lucky enough to string the healthy ab's and starts together. I remember Brian Waltons team coming from the middle of the pack in mid-july last year to take over 1st. Watch it happen again. Have to admit you got whacked bad lately, maybe that team name is bad mojo ? - even your hitter got involved in knocking him out ! Feel free to rename your team D.Kolb's elbow, dont feel like carrying his sorry ass all year.

As this looks like the new NY League 3 forum, I'll weigh in...we've had our share of injuries so far this year, but at least they've been spread out. MPE-In all my years of baseball and football leagues, I've never seen an injury week like you've had-you definitely get the moaning rights. That being said, since you've been carrying the flag for our division throughout the first third of the season, and since we're still looking up at you in the standings, I'm betting you'll pull a few tricks out of your sleeve. Good luck to both our #4 draft picks coming back soon!

Good to hear a little chatter out of NY league #3. Injuries have been tough all the way around so far, but that Prior freak injury was tough. MPE didn't get where they are solely on Prior and I wouldn't expect them to fade away. We got a long way to go and it should be a fun 4 months to go (if my team can start hitting again)! Good luck to everyone in NY #3 and hopefully we will be well represented in the money come the end of September.

Seemed like a decent group of guys at the draft, nothing to change it based on chatter to date. It is a long season. A lot of strong teams yet to make their runs.

Early analysis is that waivers have been tough, people are getting in early on the value plays. I missed Turnbow a week before he was named by a dollar (22 to 23). In most other leagues he was still out there. All that said, this week sucked for my team, although I'm sure 14 teams were happy on it. Didn't even mention Clemens leaving early too. Fortunately I have Wells and Glavine to step in for Prior and Bedard. They shouldn't miss a beat. Lol. Cracking open a drink now.

Forgot to mention: That pitching staff you have going Quahog looks like they can keep it rolling. Nice value plays Vzaquez, Ryan, et al.
