Password For Mid-Season Test League
Everyone can now look at the draft software that we have available for the NFBC Mid-Season Leagues by going to the home page and typing in the upper left-hand corner:
username: krausedemo
password: demo
Or go to: http://game.fantasybaseballchampionship ... /login.asp
STATS has created a fake draft that has two complete rounds. You'll be able to see how you can search for players, rank them before your draft, see STATS' ranking of players, etc. You can't actually pick a player or see this draft moving along, but it's a good look at what you'll have on Draft Day.
Feel free to ask questions or post comments here and I'll forward everything to STATS to make this as good as possible. I've already tried this out and it's easy to use, but I want to make sure everyone is used to it beforehand. Enjoy.

Looks good, any chance of them loading in this year's stats instead of 2004?

Once we finalize the leagues, we'll get all that information to STATS, so I hope to close out all leagues by the middle of next week.
The players are listed in order of preference (preset by STATS, but you can rank them yourself if you want to change that) by position and you can also find them by team. There is not a Search available for players, so you need to find them on the overall list or by position or by team. Once a player is selected, he goes off the list, so it's pretty easy to find players.

It seems as though it will be difficult to find a player who is not among the top ranked. Why can't we use the alphabetical rank as we now can for free agents?

Greg,
You say when searching for a player to draft, we can search by team.
Please explain how.
Sure hope we can get the alphabetical working.

Don STATS says they will not have the alphabetical search function ready for this draft. Sorry about that. However, make sure you load the applet when you go into the site and you'll find the team search function there.
From STATS: In the applet, you can search by team (StL, ChC, NYM, NYY, etc...) so if you know what team the player is on, it's easy to go get him.

Don, so make sure you click on "Launch Java Draft." You definitely want to draft from there and not from the HTML area. The team and position search functions are much easier in the Java applet. Everyone should do this and you will even be able to que up picks ahead of time and before the draft so that you can easily pick the players you want when it's your time to select.
