Buster,
Great post. I read every sentence. I laughed out loud when I goto the 'you aren't reading' statement.
Anyway, Greg has made it clear, that the main event will be KDS. I look forward to some of the Satellites branching out
My point to Greg on drinking beer at 21 vs. serving in a war at 18, is the NFBC treats players like Adults for most things (i.e. everyone can throw away FAAB on the Closer of the moment if they want to), but somehow bidding for a Draft Slot is too scary and hard and we must be protected.
Anyway, this was a fun KDS/BBDS thread again. I think this is the 10th or so that I have participated in in the last year

Spy Chris, it's not about thinking BBDS is too confusing or too scary. It's the concept of bidding with FAAB dollars for draft spots and thus starting off the season at different levels for every league. Yes, teams can bid wildly in Week 1 for free agents, but at least they all started at $1,000 to start the season. As I've said MANY times, the MAIN EVENT needs to start on a level playing field for ALL of the leagues. It has nothing to do with my customers not understanding the BBDS concept.
This BBDS idea went round and round in football this year and by the end most people agreed that bidding for your spots with free agent money wasn't the best idea. Eventually we got to the point where you could bid for your draft spots with ACTUAL POINTS from the season. That was used in a couple of NFFC satellite leagues and it was a hit. Now you can do that in football because you are using a points system and I actually thought that had merit. Unfortunately, it would be tough to bid with actual points in baseball, but at least that makes more sense to me than bidding with FAAB money. Would you bid 5 of your team points for your favored draft spot???? Now that's interesting.
BBDS makes sense for private leagues, as I've said often. BBDS using FAAB money for the main event does NOT make sense to me. It doesn't start the overall contest on the same level. I'm not sure I can be any clearer on that. So until we find a better solution than using FAAB, in my mind random draft selections or KDS is the best alternative at this point.
